I'm gonna go out and edge the sidewalks, I've been messing with this old beater since this morning. Now I'm a day behind on my chores.
I'm confused. Did you pay someone under the table to pass the car? Or like...what was the ultimate solution here? That sheet appears to be completely blank except for the "pass" in the upper-left which explains nothing.

Ha. No. That would be illegal.
I removed the personally identifiable information from the inspection report before I uploaded it.
I'm a safety guy.
All they do is check the stuff that you failed previously.
I have another one of those other printouts of the brake test from today some place, I just didn't upload it.
The solution was to fix the brakes and the tank pressure problem. Which I did. I flushed and bled is all I did. Lubed the parts in the standard places. And then replaced the hoses to the canister from the tank that were bad.
The brakes still aren't perfect. But now I have two years to get them close to it. Next tiem I replace pads, I'll overhaul the whole braking system.

Ah, I didn't know the part about where they only re-test the things that failed. That explains the blank test results (I meant the N/A bits, by the by, not the parts you obviously photoshopped out).
Glad you got it sorted (mostly)! Best of luck getting it the rest of the way!
The inspection lane is only a few miles down the road. So only a few minutes drive.
Damn Natty, where do you live? I lived just around the corner from that Inspection Station when I was a kid. Just off Airport Road. I went to Pleasantville Elementary, George Read Middle and William Penn High. What a small world.

Ha. Small world indeed.
They tore the one you're talking about down many years ago and built a new one on Rt 13 as you're going into Wilmington.
Then there's another one they built a few years ago here where I live in Bear, just around the corner by the Rt 72 and Rt 1 intersection.

Wow, I didn’t realize, I haven’t been back there in a very long time. Is the one on 13 near Bayshore Ford? I think I got my driver’s license renewed there a few years ago. Here’s a really old photo a friend took of my car on his driveway in Wilmington:

Yeah, it's right behind Bayshore. I never go to that one, though. I never even go into Wilmington anymore. Too much traffic on 13 and too far away, considering the one near me is nice and rural and right around the corner basically. I used to do a lot of work in Wilmington, though. Think I've been in just about every one of those buildings at one point or another. These days, though, I avoid that whole area.
Cool plates on the vette. Heh heh.
Here's a couple of snapshots I took yesterday of my old beater...
At least they don't make you put a license plate on the front here. That would drive me nuts. In fact, I would actually move to a different state a lot sooner based on just that one thing. True story.
I did find one bad hose when i was looking around at the canister a bit ago. It was shot.
So I replaced that. Should likely just replace all of em in that area and be done with it. Don't think I have anything in those sizes, though, so need to go get some.
All those hoses were bundled as a serviced kit. You had one part number and it replaced everything. I have a kit for the ZR-1, but I know the vacuum line is a bit different, but most of the rest could be scavenged.

I ended up using rubber fuel line on all of it.
That diagram is actually a Vin J diagram. There wasn't an L98 diagram in the manual. Seems like it looked pretty much the same.
Hm. I hope I have it all routed correctly. I should look around for an actual L98 diagram to verify.
It is nice to see other forum members FIX their problems on their Corvette before changing the plates to allow them not to have to maintain their Corvettes in Safe Form according to our local State Governments. I am a big believer in safety and do my own work 95% of the time. My safety inspectors are very happy when I show up as they KNOW just HOW I maintain the Corvettes properly along with my other cars. They still look and verify that I didn't miss anything so I get my money's worth out of the safety Inspection. On my C4 I still get the emissions tested even though I don't have too anymore, it is good to see how clean the Corvette is running anyway.
Fixing the problems is the "right way" in my opinion. I have 2 Corvettes and both fly through their inspections as I have normal day to day plates on them. In Virginia we have annual Safety Inspections and Emissions needs to be tested to get new license plates or to renew them.
Being an old timer is just fine with me. I have had my C3 for 30 years and my C4 for over 20 years. It would be much harder to own such a Car without this Forum!
I really appreciate all the knowledge here on this site! Thank you for sharing with us!
Do you remember this place? It's across the road from the DMV I go through. It's been there for a long time.
I don’t remember it off the top of my head and I did go to school there for one year back in 1970. It was called Commodore MacDonough Elementary. It was just North of the bridge over the C&D Canal. I’m sure it’s also long gone, but I don't remember that dealer. I was trying to remember a Chevy dealer around Bear where I got parts for my ‘68 back in the early ‘80s. I can see the place in my head, but can’t remember the name. I bought my ‘86 from Diver Chevrolet in Wilmington.
