LT1 vs Vortec block
Any difference? I know they're both roller blocks and the LT1 is "reverse flow". With that, are these interchangeable? Looking to build a road course L98 and wondering which would be better to start.
Would vortec heads attach to an LT1 block? Could I just use the L98 waterpump to make it "conventional" flow?

L98 and LT1 are not compatible... the coolant hole layout on the deck surface as well as coolant flow path is completely different... the timing covers are also completely different between the LT1 and Vortec...
Now the Vortec and L98 are 100% interchangeable.... as are 5.7L TBI SBC truck and van engines after 1986. 2500 and 3500s will be 4 bolt mains.
