Check to see what all the lights are controlled by that fuse circuit. That should narrow it down.
Maybe check when it is dark if you can see any lights not shutting off. Under the hood, foot wells, storage compartments or any where else there may be a light still on. If so it could be the switch that controls that specific light.
About a month ago I went out and my battery was dead. I had accidently turned the interior lights on when I got out of the car. My 96 has the light switch close to where I put my hand getting out. Dan
I don't know if the visor mirror lights are tied into that fuse, but would be worth checking. I once accidently moved the switch into the on position when moving the visor around and luckily discovered it was on before exiting the car.
Different years of "C4" have different things on the "Courtesy Light Fuse".
You need to tell us the year of the car to narrow down the guesses. It is a 1985. Bought as a project.
Lots of items on the CTSY fuse in a 1985. Visor mirror lights, console compartment light, lighter, underhood lights and radio memory.
What is the amp draw on the CTSY fuse when everything is off? If it is in the 20 Ma range, could there be an undiscovered Lojack device in the car? I found one in my 1992 in the ABS compartment. The CTSY circuit goes to the rear of the car for the antenna relay and spare tire light, they may have tapped into that for the constant battery power.
Fuse was likely removed because of a faulty courtesy light dimmer control. That is most likely where the 'root' problem lies. Do some research on this. You can replace the dimmer control or just bypass it. But, leave the fuse out while you are researching. Once fixed, you can reinatall the fuse and the battery should not drain.
