Finally got my Quickjacks set up. I was wrong. I have slip in the front and flange in the back.

I sent you a PM with a couple pictures of the one I've been selling for 86-91 C4's. Take a look and make sure that's the one you need.

Also if anyone on the forum wants a test pipe, don't buy it through my ebay listing. I'll sell them direct to you for less. Ebay fees are really high and it would save you money to just PM me instead. It's kind of strange. I never thought this idea would go anywhere. But since this thread started I've sold a bunch of these things. the early 4 bolt flange style mostly. And most of the people who bought them are using them for F-bodies not C4's. Since I now have the four bolt oval flanges on hand, I also started making adapters so the 84 and 85 guys can bolt on a later 86-91 exhaust without cutting up their factory front Y pipe. It's awesome when half baked ideas sometimes pan out

I knew it wasn't a half-baked idea.

Also anyone with a 86-91, do you think a stainless band style step clamp would work instead of a U bolt? I hate u bolts and always use stainless band clamps if I can. If you guys think there would be room for that style instead of the U bolt I'll include one with this test pipe to make it easier to take back apart. This is a picture of what I'm talking about.

I just bought a pair of those clamps to use on a Corvette Central rear Y pipe and mufflers and they fit the muffler side but were too large for the Y pipe side. FWIW. Measure careful. Seemed well made.

I have an 88 and over the last few days have been looking into getting rid of the mid cat and as luck would have it I stumbled upon this discussion. I would be interested in the "test pipe" and my setup looks like your second set of pictures. Just to be sure, it is 3 in pipe correct? lol

Yes they are 3". I 'm out of stock right this second. But the laser cut flanges just showed up today and the steel tubing will be here next week. I can send you a PM when I have more made. These seem to sell out pretty quick. That first picture I posted looks awful. I sold that one as a blem because I welded an expansion in the one end. This is what the new ones look like

Did you make the ball socket on the end by the flange or did you buy the pipe like that already? I am thinking about getting an exhaust cutout at some point and this would be where I would install it. I would basically need the ball/socket end with flange to weld on one side and the spreaded section on the other side (unless I just do a coupler on that side).
Also what is the overall length?

I order the steel tubing with the ball end already made. The flange with the bolt holes I designed on CAD and have Send Cut Send cut them out for me. I flair the pipe after sliding on the flange so it will slide over a 3" pipe. The overall length when I'm done is 20 1/2".
