I can't help you with removal of the door speakers. The front speakers in 91 I had and current 95 are not in the doors. 91 to 96 are in enclosures in the foot wells. In your shoes I'd access and unplug all four and then plug one at a time back in to check sound. In the 91 I had to replace on front front and one rear amp and I thought the sound quality was decent. The PO of the 95 had replaced the Bose radio with a Pioneer unit that has Bluetooth and a USB port.

yea I really want to keep the “old” look in the head unit but there is some out there if I need to replace the system. Hopefully I’ll get those outer door seals soon to give me more of a reason to take the door panels off. Any idea why moving the treble and bass adjuster causes for the sound to go away completely. Could that also be Because of the Amps?
that’s the one I saw. Looks not to bad, depending on prior use or what’s under the panel. I’ll be able to do that and test the speaker/amps one by one. Which will most likely end with me having to get all new amps, but not sure if that will fix my issue anyways. Time will tell.
You have to keep in mind the age of the electronics and the contacts of the controls may be dirty. There are vendors that can rebuild the head unit. I suggest you go to batee.com. They have some great videos on the Bose unit and rebuilding of the dash display.

i wouldn’t consider getting new amps. Either send them out to be worked on, ranging from $50-90 per…. Or do them all yourself for $15 and 4 hours
there was a slight hiccup in the test. The seals came in bent so I had to reorder and send it back so it took way longer to be ready. I also got the windows tinted the day they came so I’m waiting some days just to make sure it’s set. Then I’ll be able to roll the windows down to do the full test. Assuming the full system needs redone. Hoping for the best.
