Dont plan on it...saw a nice one at the Grand Funk concert last night (still cant hear a damn thing) and I just wondered how some of you racers faired against the 10cyl serpent.
I didn't choose the name ANTI VENOM, because I can beat Cobra's!!!! :D I've had good luck on the street with the ones that will even acknowledge me. If they are modified, and he/she can drive, it starts gettin ugly......
On a side note, I haven't tangled with the real late model ones.....yet! When I finish the 91, I'll be back out stepin on snakes :yesnod:
hey, what about on the top end?
ZR1 and a Viper. whose got more pull high up?
regarding gears and such.
... or is that a dumb question, because the viper's got more power over all?
I raced a GTS and an RT10 in my stock 85 ....... :lolg: Ok so it really wasn't a race. I have yet to run into one that wants to race since aquiring my new car ;) I tried to get one of hte 03 SRT10s to race me but he was still breaking in.... :(
On this 50th anniversary of America's true original Sports car :chevy It's a damn shame that GM has allowed the new kid on the block, VIPER :boxing to continue whooping our ***** stock for stock :( I fear that this trend will continue into the next decade. With the introduction of the C6, 450 BHP :lolg:We will continue to be outgunned. Chrysler played it's hand by introducing the new VIPER before GM introduces C6, you would think that GM would take full advantage and introduce a 500 BHP C6  That way the playing field would be a little bit more equal.
Top end?!!!
Where you gonna' run 170+ to find out?
An extra 100-200hp is a large advantage on the top end especially.
an old saying: if you have to ask how much it is, you can't afford it.
Corvette saying: if you aren't SURE you have enough power, don't call a Viper out.
:)
Larry
code5coupe (ain't racing no Vipers)
:seeya
The TX guys do this all the time. But actually the Viper needs all the extra power to play on the top end. The frontal area of the car is so huge it creates a ton of drag.
BTW....I'll be calling Vipers out :D cept maybe the new ones :blueangel:
Bring on the Vipers, even the new ones. Take them to school at the local autox. All that horsepower will only make them spin or run through the cones that much sooner.
I've seen those Vipers do low 12s at the track without even trying hard. I would not put any $ down on such a race (stock Vette against a 10 cyl Viper). :chevy
