I purchased a new antenna mast to replace my old one, but of course the simple installation didn't work. Now I have the motor out so I can open the cover and clean out the broken ribbon pieces, but I can't find the 4 phillips head screws that are supposed to be there. All I see is little black looking caps where I would think the screws should be. Anyone have any ideas thanks
Are you talking about the Harda Antenna system.......is it easy to install???
like what do you have to disconnect?????
thanks

ok well i drilled out the rivets, cleaned out the inside (although there was hardly anything broken off in there). So I put it all back together and try to remove the mast again, but still no luck. Any ideas? I guess the next step would be to just buy a whole new antenna motor, but I think I will just live with it till I actually need a new one.
I just did this yesterday...for the second time in the last four years. If I'm understanding your question, you want to know how to get the mast out of the motor while it is mounted on the car? If so, once you have the nut off the mast, you turn on the radio and extend the mast to full extension. It's supposed to pop right out, but mine hasn't either time. The first time I pulled like a madman to no avail. After I shot some WD-40 around it, it eventually came out.
It sounds fine and doesn't make any weird noises. I tried pulling like crazy and it wouldn't come out, but i will try your wd-40 trick and see it that works. Thanks
I'm a little lost here.... Are you still trying to remove finial end of the mast with the ribbon ? You had it open so you should have been able to remove the old mast and ribbon and feed new one into it using 12 volts to completely pull it in. Need better info on what you are doing
It sound like your trying to remove the old mast from the motor. If this is the case as others have mentioned it is sometimes difficult to get out. There is some type of retainer that holds the mast in place. Check your new mast and you'll see what I'm talikng about. I was unable to get mine out either........no matter how hard I pulled it would not come out. I eventually gave up on it and since then my blose system has taken a crap so its not real high on my priority list. When you take the cover off the motor can you see the retainer I'm referring to? If so maybe you can pry on it a bit to get it to release.
