For the love of God!!! Will it never end!!!! I'm refering to the Mods I keep adding. Why couldn't I just have a drinking problem? I think it would be a cheaper addiction! Anyway all seriousness aside I'm with a number of the others in I'd like to see how reliable the system turns out to be. Boy isn't an oxymoron considering the opt-spark. Right now I'm torn between this set up and the new DynoTech opti-spark. I was wondering how would an MSD box work with the LTCC system? Or would it be an exercise in futility? Although I'd love to see some dyno numbers I'm more interested in how this works on a daily basis, start up, drivability etc.. Thanks for all the great info, keep us posted
Well Jeff, I can't help you with the MSD system, don't know enough about it. I can tell you this that so far after three weeks, not a single stumble.
Been on one road trip so far and several passes down the track. Not a single glitch at all except that every so often teh Service ASR light comes on and I lose traction control. That has something to do with the tach filter or one of the wires leading to it.
I turn off ASR anyway so it's not a big deal.
Got a tad over 500 miles so far, I'll be keeping everyone updated.

I would not advise it. MSD boxes are just that - Multiple Spark Discharge - and they are dependant on normal timing cycles on a single coil... remember, we are dealing with 8 coils here.
Also, I spoke via email with Bob Bailey. I asked him about the spark plug wire issue, to paraphrase "I need to update the webside... Get the Taylor cut to fit wires."
Hey thanks for the quick replies. I'm also wondering would it be possible to mount the coils elsewhere? I'm sure I can fabricate a bracket or mount to put them where space would allow. I'd probably cut to fit my own plug wires. I just want to keep the rail covers. Damn it man! You're not helping my addiction. :banghead:
Sir just put the tools down and back away from the car.

Sorry forgot to ask what is the issue with the ASR?

The only purpose of capacitive discharge add-ons is to extend the upper RPM range of an engine that has a single coil with 8 cylinders dividing up the dwell time of that single coil.
An 8 coil system has boat-loads of dwell time for each cylinder since they each have their own coil. Putting a capacitive discharge ignition system on a multi-coil setup would be like putting scotch tape over a perfect weld for security.

Re: Coil Conversion done (ASRoff)
I made my brackets out of a aluminum angle extrusion I got from home depot. I then bolted it to the top of the valve coveruseing the valve cover bolts. I also made my own set of custom leight MSD wires. I have seen some guys use a threaded rod some nuts and two brackets that bolt to the head. The latest Issue of GM high performance has a turbo camaro on the cover.According to the artical He runs a fast system with the LTCC.
the camaro you speak of belongs to a guy i know, it works very well so far
