Default crank case pressure

What are you supercharged guys using to relieve crank pressure? I have one valve cover connected to the exhaust via evac kit and the other valve cover connected to the intake of the supercharger via the other breather/filler cap that came with the exhaust evac kit and then through an air-oil separator. This don't seem to be working too good. Would I be better off to just put a regular breather in each valve cover?

I have a couple of the baby air filters laying around. I will try them.

vent every hole in the valve covers including the oil fill and then run a hose from the vent filters or the filters will become pluged with oil and then drip on your valve covers....at least thats what I did but you can eat off my engine. :chevy

 run the hose to where?

Currently I did what ATI said  and ran the hose to the air filter. This is SUCH a bad idea. I want a better solution....

Hey Black Bart!!!! How's yours again???

The engine in my 85 is very tired it has 120,000 miles and the supercharger is killing it ( about 12,000 spercharged miles) I have blowby and I just run hoses to the bottom of the engine bay to remove the oil mist from settling on the valve covers............I tried the filters but after a summer they would drip on the valve covers and that was unexceptable............new motor under construction......by the way spector makes filters with a hose attachment. :chevy

No but I have explained this before and those who posted just keep looking for a solution after you have already told them how so unless it is someone that I think really is looking for a solution to their problem why bother. Like I said before I"m making more cylinder pressure than most and I have cured the oil blowing problem. If you want to spend hundreds on experimenting I"M sure their is another way but when someone has already figured it out it is the easy way to go but I guess some just like to keep trying to reinventing the wheel.

Black Bart, I was going to ask for your remedy but I was afraid that you may have already passed it on to me and I didn't remember. Some of us are getting old and have CRS. Anyway, I would like to know your solution. I have heard several but not sure the best route to take. I hate to have to try them all to find out.

Ronnie with forced induction you will have blowby can't keep from it the more boost and the more miles on the rings the more blowby. Best and cheapest way that I found is to buy a crankcase evac kit from Summit I got two of the oil separators you will get one way valve like is on the exhaust manifold where the air pump connects and two pieces of half inch pipe to weld into the collectors. For looks I used stainless braided hose. I have a K&N filter on one valve cover and a oil seperator on each cover with hose to each collector. Whenever you are on it hard enought to create blowby the vacuum from the exhaust will draw the fumes into the exhaust if any oil happens to get throught the oil seperator it will just burn in the exhaust pipe. Before I installed this setup I was blowing oil out all over the engine tried several types of beathers but all of them just got soaked and dripped oil everwhere. I didn't mean to sound like a smart azz but when you are sure no one is listening why bother. If you want to see how this setup looks click on the link at the bottom I have pictures of it. Also if you want to drop the water temp check out the grill this is one of the best mods I ever did to my car. I drove it over 50 miles at 85 degrees and the coolant temp ran 174 to 179 fans are set to come on at 185 but never runs unless I"m in town.. I have a stock radiator proves that you don't have to have a $ 500.00 radiator the reason they help is because lack of airflow with air flow the stock radiator will keep it cool

If you already have headers installed just do what I did. I used a right angle drill to make the holes then weld them in place. Kinda hard to weld on the top side but it can be done. My collectors are full of holes two O2 sensors and two crankcase evac pipes.

I just checked the Summit web site they now have two crankcase evac systems a Mr.Gasket at $ 31.95 this is just a breather with a hose to the one way valve it would allow oil to pass throough it.

The Moroso is the one that I have it has the oil seperator built into it and sells for $59.95 :leaving:

You need two more for the dual pyrometers

I have stock exhaust, but considering I have to weld for my EGT and O2 sensor anyway, I'm going to get the kit. Thanks Bart!

Thanks Bart, I have the evac kit but am only running one oil separater from the valve cover to the exhaust at this time and one oil separater from the other valve cover to the supercharger intake. I guess I will drill one of the valve covers for a breather and take the line going to the intake and tie it into the exhaust instead.
