While you've got it out, drop in a 180. That helped mine alot. 90 degrees outside, a/c on, crusining-182-183 degrees. Sitting still -187-195. Get moving again, 182-183. That's if everything else is working right.
bubbles in the radiator sounds like a head gasket .?? #6 is a different color? maybe thats your problem? it should cool just fine with a 180-195 therm and a good radiator, assuming all the fans are functioning. Take the rad cap off and on acold stat see if you get bubbles, sure sounds like a head gasket.
Ok everybody it seems to be fixed notice I said seems, I took the thermostat back out and I bought another one a 180 degree one and I drilled the two holes in it . I filled the block through the thermostat opening and checked the new thermostat to make sure it opened when it's suppose to. I installed the thermostat and housing pulled the upper hose off at the thermostat and filled it with antifreeze and water until it came back out the thermostat housing put the hose back on and drove it around for a while went out on the highway and the temp stayed down. It did go up to 196 one time when I went into town but it came right back down to 185. I would like to Thank everyone for their help. :steering: :hurray: :party: :thumbs:
