Default 396 MinRam almost ready ...

Well my new combo is almost ready to fire for the first time ...

I have a 396ci, MiniRam, 224/236 521/556 114LSA hydrolic roller, 30# injectors, etc ...

I need to set the TPS and timing, what do you recommend for these? 6 degrees timing and 0.5 volts for the TPS???

How do I set the TPS? Which wires do I use?

I'm burning a custom chip using the stock mass air ECU before start up and doing futher tuning on a chassis dyno, anything else I should know?

Ahh! Sounds killer! Is this an L98 or LT?
I don't know how I ended up with it, but I'm doing a 391(!) stroker right now. Am struggling mightily with intake manifold selection. What made you opt for the MR?
Spin the oil pump with a drill sturdy enough to handle that. Like a 1/2 drive one. I burnt out a couple 3/8 drills pre-oiling. Spin the engine while pre-oiling...no plugs in. Easy to get #1 back to TDC. A remote start switch works great. Just clip on one of the aligator clips on the big stud of the starter and the other clip to the tiny stud. Key can be off.
TPS use the DVOM between ground and the blue wire with key on. .50 you are right on there.
Let us know what kind of numbers you end up with. Specially A/F ratios. Inquiring minds want to know
:D

It's an 88 L-98, I went with a MiniRam because it's has a 6 speed. The motor has already been primed, just need to set TPS and timing.

Can you give me a better explanation for setting the TPS? ... and 6 degrees for the timing?

Stick a paper clip in each of the TOP 2 Wires of the TPS connection so that they make contact with each wire. Place your tester on lowest dc volt selection and put a probe on each paper clip. The ignition should be on. Loosen the two torx screws and adjust TPS switch until you get a reading of .54 volts.

So is 0.54 volts the best setting for a modded combo? ... or is it better to be closer to 0.60 ? Does anyone have experience with this?
