We'll ALL ignore the BIG JIM 54 remarks. It must be that time of the month for him.
Looks like you,me and a lot of other folks were a little shocked at the uncalled for stupid remarks he made.
His post remind me of that old saying about "It's better to keep your mouth shut and let folks THINK you are an idiot rather than open your mouth and PROVE you're an IDIOT."
When it's cold, pick it off in big pieces. No big deal.
I would think someone who knew the benefit of long-tube headers and how to install them properly wouldn't be so stumped from a simple malady. But you do say "ceramic coated" which would be an indication of more money than sense.
Despite everything in that post that has been duly commented on, I find this very interesting.

Money?...Yes! Sense?...Has anyone found that the additional initial cost didn't payoff in the long run with reduced maintenence and increased life? I wonder how many people have installed uncoated headers and are happy they did?
i was thinking go to autozone and get some of that purple stuff *forget the name, but someone here knows it*. it is an engine degreaser that will remove your fingerprints, guess how I know. use gloves with that.
walmart also sells some stuff for removing stickers. it comes in a bright yellow steel can about the size of a small aersol spray bottle, only it is a pour top. it smells exactly like ether, and i would be will to bet money that it would work.
i do not suggest trying to burn it off... because it won't ever completely burn off
i also suggest the toluene route...(gasoline contains some toluene as far as i know) or even kerosene and clean the residue with that
don't breathe toluene vapors... if you do you might pass out under your car
