Remember that post about how my corvette ran like the energizer bunny? All you guys who said I tempted fate were correct.
The water pump bit the dust.
It poured juice all over the opti. Then I pulled the pump off - and poured even more juice over the opti... The pump is on order and should be here on Tuesday.
Did I mention that the whole front of the engine is covered in oil and dirt? Looks like the seals associated with the timing cover have seen better days too...
I'm too broke after christmas to do this right.
So - sacrifice the virgin at the chevrolet temple so that my cheap fix may actually work.
Your half butt (it actually changed it to BUTT?) friend,,,,
The Opti doesn't die right away normally. It'll take a while before it rusts up some. Start saving money for a new Opti or find a cheap one and save it. It will happen, just a matter of when is all. Most change it while there to save labor, if you are doing it yourself then it really is overkill. I have never had to replace a waterpump on my 150K mile car, but did do the Opti once.
