Need help replacing 84 antenna

Need help replacing 84 antenna
Do you know where to access the power antenna on an 84 ... do I get to it through the wheel well or through the rear deck? Any advice you have for me will save a lot of time. Thanks.

I did it on my '88 with out removing the wheel. In fact, I didn't even have to jack the car up. I did have to remove the trim under the hatch to get to the connections, but I was able to lay on my back and go up behind the wheel on the inside of the side of the bumper. It's actually not that bad a job if you have a friend help pull the wires through the hole in the body as you feed it through the bottom. I used a touch of dish soap to help the grommet get into the hole, but any grease should work fine.

Remove the wheel and inner fender. Well worth the 5 minutes :smash:
Power connection is under trim beside hatch latch. Coaxial connection is under carpet, behind the trim on drivers side of cargo area.
