OBD1 was cars from 94 to 95, then 96 and up went to OBD2. In case you don't know, OBD = ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS
Anything before 94 was pre-OBD or as some would say it was OBD1 but in reality it was never deemed that way. By the way OBD3 is coming to a car near you ........ :cry
I don't think there was ever a OBD1.5......it was just that in 94 it was a transitional point within GM some cars got the OBD2 connector and some got the OBD1 connector, it was a mid year transition where it happened. Most 95 F cars got the OBD1 connector while almost all Y bodies got the OBD2 connector. Even in 95 there was a few Y bodies that got out with OBD1 connectors. I know of at two that did, my 95 has the OBD2 connector.
Who knows why it happened that way at the factory, maybe they just had to use up what was in the parts bins?
