Default Paging tjwong....

I have a question that may be very simple for you considering your expertise in the area of LT1/4 editing. I want to leave the original 180 t'stat in and adjust the fans down to around 185. Yet since the vette temp climbs to 204 on the highway no matter when the fans come on, I need to have them cutout above a certain speed or RPM so they won't be on continuously. I need the fans on around the 185 for in-town and idling. Does my edit 2.2 allow me to set the fans in this manner?

In Tuner Cat there is what is called "Fan threashold high MPH", This parameter only defines the speed at which the high MPH threshold is enabled, at speeds below this setpoint the low MPH threshold are in effect.

Also the Fan high MPH temperature threshold has a normal setting of 113*C or 235*F. The way I interpet this with the "fan threshold high MPH" parameter set to 0 and the fan 1 and fan 2 High MPH turn on temperature set to 113*F it means that they will not come on at all if speeds = or > 0

This means that all you have to do is to define the "low MPH" primary fan enable temperatures set points to 85*C for them to come on at 185*F and I would set the secondary fans to come on at 89*C or 192*F. In LT1 Edit I am not sure if these other features are availble as I only have version 2.0. I always use Tuner Cat as I have my own PCM definition that allows me to edit much more than what Edit offers.

In LT1 Edit it would be the first and second stage fan temp settings, and you would be setting the temp settings in the "chassis" tab. Leave the oil temperature settings in their default settings. This should be all you need to do.

I hope that helps :)
