Were you running a FMU from Pro-charger? And is it still connected? The reason I ask is because that Bosch/Accel pump can more than handle 90 PSI if that FMU is still there. So make sure that the vacuum/boost signal line is still there and connected to the FMU. Otherwise you are going to have to map the enrichment via the fuel and PE tables in the prom. Which is really the correct way of doing it, but its going to take some dyno time with a wide band.
Also is this pump used as a inline fuel pump in conjunction with the in tank pump? If it is, then make SURE that this new pump is running. Otherwise the car will run with just the in tank pump and it will pump through the new pump but you won't get any pressure because the new pump that is not running is now a SEVERE RESTRICTION So if this is the way its configured double check the power to the pump and that it is in fact running.
YES I HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE FUEL REGULATOR. YES I AM USING THE FMU FROM PROCHARGER. I'LL CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS STILL CONNECTED. YES I AM USING THE PUMP INLINE WHERE THE OLD PROCHARGER PUMP WAS. DOES THAT PUMP RUN CONTINUIOS OR IS IT SWITCHED FROM THE FMU? WHAT ARE YOU GUYS USING FOR INJECTORS? ACCEL? BOSCH? ALSO WHAT ARE YOU GUYS USING FOR A FUEL FILTER? RIGHT NOW THE ONLY THING THAT I AM CERTAIN OF IS THAT I AM RUNNING OUT OF GAS? THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT SO FAR.
HI GUYS,
WROTE EARLIER ABOUT A FUEL PRESSURE BOUNCING UNDER BOOST. I HAVE A 91 WITH THE PROCHARGER 8# DUAL INTERCOOLED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL PUMP THAT COMES WITH THE KIT WAS A P.O.S.. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I TRY THE ACCEL 74702 PUMP. JUST GOT IT INSTALLED AND MY FUEL PRESSURE WENT AWAY. I USED TO RUN 90 PSI UNDER BOOST AND THEN IT WOULD BOUNCE. NOW I RUN 60 PSI UNDER BOOST AND I GET A SCARY LEAN CONDITION AT ABOUT 5500 RPM. PLEASE HELP!
Upgrade your injectors NOW! and get a custom chip burned from Jesse Azzato aka ski_dwn_it (forum handle)
60 psi is more than enough rail pressure to support your HP needs with the proper injectors. I'm not saying your current ones can't support it, but 90 psi is WAY too high also for the stock injectors anyway, and if you're worried about a lean condition, just wait until they lock up on you.
Do you have an adjustable Fuel pressure regulator too?
I'm making ~425HP and I'm only running 48 psi at max boost with 30lb injectors. No detonation.
That new inline pump has to be running. Perhaps the fuse or the relay went bad on you. Or the signal that tells the relay to turn on is not present. I am not sure how the procharger guys do the wiring on your car so I can't tell you where to look. But the first thing to do is to feel the new pump with your hand with the engine idling. It should be running, if not you better be checking the wiring to see why it isn't.
