My engine is being rebuild as we speak. I was not planing on going FI. But a good deal on a procharger changed my mind, you know how it is
Well I wounder how high boost I can run "safe".
My engine:
I would say 6 PSI maximum boost at that compression ratio. Seeing how the average kit these days are produced for late model vettes and F bodies, and they run similar compression or more. But if you are building the engine now, and plan for a blower. Why not drop the compression to a blower friendly 8.5 or 9:1?
6-8psi with intercoolers and a good tune. Im in the same boat. 10.4/1 comp. I'm planning an 8psi kit later on. You could probably go 10psi with an aftermarket Dfi and alot of tuning, just alot more work involved(and$$)to make it safe.
Yea like going into the motor to get the compression ratio lower....
Yep, that's about it, unless you're saying "tuning" as in pulling an a$z load of timing which will pretty much make 10psi useless for creating more HP.
