car won't start sometime
I have a 86 vette and about once or twice a month out of the blue my car will start up and shut right back off within five seconds or less after you let it sit for a while it will start up and run like normal. while sitting i don't do anything just after awhile i'll turn the key and it will start. any ideas what is going on here. or how to fix it

As mentioned before getting a fuel pressure gage is the first step.
But if you haven't already, replace the fuel filter first. $15 vs. $150. (Guessing at the prices)
