Default chip? or hypertech?

I have a 96 auto LT1
with the following upgrades:
muffler eliminators
Hedman full length ceramic coated headers
BBk 52 mm throttle body
K an N
open air lid.
no egr/Air system
and no spare tire.

should i buy a hypertech power programmer i can get a used one for $150
or do i need to get custom work.
I am planning on more upgrades...
like a cam, rockers, lt4 valve springs, pocket porting.
thanks
Sean

Hypertech is hypercrap. Get the mods and get a custom tune. You have a 96 which means you have obd2. This also poses some questions but I ain't sure what the answers are. Aren't you throwing a code already with the EGR/AIR removed?

You won't be able to do anything for the cam and other mods with the HPP+ as it is a very generic and rather geriatric tune. For serious mods like a cam and ported heads, you need someone to recalibrate the PCM or you can purchase the software and hardware to do it yourself. At this time there is only one place to get a OBD2 tuner software and that is from:

www.carputing.com

If you have time and want to save some cash Tuner Cat will be releasing theres sometime late this year or early next year.

I'll be in Atlanta in a few months if I have it then no problem. I'm waiting on the Gossett Bently dealership to finish have some work there to do. I drink Bud Light.... I have the HPP+ now and it is good for the shifts and lower fan temps you can't mess it up VERY EASY.
