Just put new injectors in my 90. Started it up and it ran fine for about the first 30 seconds...it then started surging real bad and then died out...it set a code 33, any ideas? I really need your help on this one guys!!!!!!!!!!
What size injectors? Are they stock? Did you reconnect everything fine after installing them. Vacuum lines reconnected?[/color]
I am sure I reconnected everything because I checked it twice and even had a checklist. The injectors I put in were 21# Accel which are supposedly the direct replacement. I noticed two things, When I disconnect the throttle position sensor, the engine speeds up to about 1800 RPM's but runs smooth, as soon as I reconnect it the engine surges and dies. I also found out that a code 33 is a MAP sensor voltage reading to high. I am still lost.
MAP high voltage is low vacuum. Sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Put a vacuum gage on the plenum and see what you get. You can also try spraying around the runners and plenum. Did you clean off the old gaskets real good?
I agree, it sounds like a vacum problem. Also check to make sure the injectors were installed correctly. Did you account for all of the old injector o-rings?

Gentlemen, first of all I want to thank all of you for your help, and yes you all were right it was a vacuum leak. I am embarrased to tell you that after rechecking I discovered that I overlooked connecting the vacuum line to the bottom of the MAP sensor. Boy is my face red. After taking care of that, with the new injectors in place the car has never run smoother or faster!!! Thanks again.
