Hey Nick,
Last #'s were like 712 rwhp at 5800rpm, still having bleed off. That and the HP tuners has been a work in progress. I have a AF gauge set-up so the box has a plug in to the boost controller. I think Dan is going to step it up on my car now that it is becoming "NO SNOW" soon. I really have not been pushing and this winter he has had cars in the shop non-stop.............well I guess he has to eat I think it is going to shake out at 750 on pump and that is good enough for me. We will be doing a track day in MAY for sure Hope we can get into the 10's (no traction) but I will take a 140 trap speed I hope I still remember how to drive a stick. It's been a long time for sure. Good luck with you project

Hey Nick,
I took the car out for a drive today...went 20 miles. The hood liner didn't catch fire..but was pretty damn hot. I am concerned about the hood. The thermal barriers I recommended on my thread will work just fine to alleviate those concerns. However, a hood like Halltechs will allow fresh air in the front and it pushes the hot air out the back. I took my hood off today...I love looking at the kit. I talked to Ryan Pettus (owner of the first Haltech TT kit) he told me he just used a Cowl Induction Hood, and everything is cool..literally.

I am making a template up for my hood and it will resemble JPAS's and the Toyota TRD Supra hood. It will serve two purposes. First it will lower the under hood temps and second it will create down force by eliminating under hood pressures. It will be Z06 screened of course...I don't care about rain because I don't drive in it. But even if it does the screened area is immediately over the collector and turbine area. No worries...you are going to be very happy with your kit....especially having an Automatic Tranny.

I was ripping through the gears today on my test drive. 1st and 2nd are actually usable on the street because you can get the car moving. I do this by short shifting 1st and 2nd right about 3200 rpms (about 6lbs with my Turbos), when I am getting into 3rd the rpms are still at 2500 rpms and you can start to get into the throttle harder until the tires start giving and then up shift quickly to 4th and roll into it hard. 4th gear only lost traction when I stabbed it to WOT...but I could roll it on harder that with previos setups. This is what I found to be a pleasant surprise about street driving my car. I will get to the track after I do the final tuning down at A&A. I plan on finishing the hood before I go down to Andy's too...so I will send parts. I have to order the Z06 screen.

Nick,

Are you running aftermarket fuel rails? I'm thinking of doing a set and just want to know if it'll interfere with the setup?

How are things going?

Yes ill run speed inc. rails and regulator. good 2nd question. the feed will go into passanger rear rail where itll tee and go forward then crossover to front driver side where itll tee again. the regulator will come off the tee and go to return. as far as the coil pack i dont think so. the brackets that ptk made for coil pack can easly be modified by drilling a couple of holes but i dont think will be needed.

as far as progress, i was hoping to throw it together this sunday but chris @ae tech showed me some thing about my 59cc heads that made me spend some more!!! i bought a set of afr 205 66cc. thatll take the compression to 8.37. we might fly cut heads just a little bit but not sure yet. if we make chamber 2 cc smaller thatll make 8.54. not sure how much material has to be removed to equal 2cc?

ill have patriot heads for sale and will have brand new manley valves and seals. they are fine for na its just chris thinks the deck thickness and being welded are not the best best if i really wanna crank it up.
whatever

oh one more thing, i dont think the alternator and the rail will be problem and if it is there is plenty of meat on the ebnd of ther rail the can be milled down. of course that end will be plugged along with driver rear rail. there is not room for fitting there.

Perfect.. I was just looking at those same rails.. courtesy of Kromberg and his build-up pics. Verry

While talking w/ speedinc regarding their rails we talked a bit about the fast intake and 90mm TB. Hmmmm... must see if it'll make a difference..

Regarding cr here's my take.. Based on what Kevin's seeing so far there's a whole lot of potential in store. Once boost is turned up (and Andy does his magic) I think they'll start thinking drivetrain... This is with his at 9to1. Keep in mind, your building for boost so your limit isn't going to be 16psi either.. w/ 8.5 you can live close to, if not at, 20psi. At 20psi it's gonna be scary..

But then again in six months we'll all have upgraded drivetrains..

Another weekend coming up Nick.. you know what to do..

I have this carbon fiber hood. Works really well for downforce, heat, cool air. Weighs 22 lbs. less than stock

very nice, i live only 80 miles from acpmotorsports. i spoke to the owner and he tells me that that hood has been engineered to pull the heat out. he stated that many years in the avation industry and assured me that that hood will do the trick. if you pop the hood after driving in the summer, does it feel reasonable under the hood?

just walked in the door from working on the vette today. got the 02 tanks in along w/97 lines and msd boost a pump. hookin up 97 lines to a car that has older style probably is not to difficult but to do a complete system isnt a breeze. its compicated by the fact that i wasnt the one to remove from the 02 car!

next week nothing will happen so i am hoping the following the car will be done and ready for tune.

keith from hp emailed me that the 3 bar isnt ready yet so.. might have to stick with only 14.7 psi for now, then again i might use ls1edit untill 3 bar is ready??????

My track temperatures run between 185-195. I have zero horsepower loss due to heat soak. On a hot day idling, you can actually see the header heat swirl out the vents. Very cool.

I also have a Ron Davis radiator/oil cooler(ten quarts of oil) as well, Haltech Trap front screen and electric H2O pump.

It also just looks downright mean.

Having had a mag I'll be staying with my acp magna extractor. A few more slits in the middle of the hood should only help with the heat.
