Default ** Forced Induction And Clutches: The Solution **

An auto swap. RPM trans and a Yank convertor.

I picked up my car earlier tonight and all I can say is wow. The partial throttle acceleration is incredible. You can just start to ease into the throttle and instantly see 5-6 #'s of boost. The spool is awesome!!.

I would also like to extend a special thank you to RoadRebel / aka Dr. Phil for all of his work and patience with my car. Everything came together beautifully.

After having three different combos (ProCharger, TT's with an M6 and stock motor, and now TT's with a forged motor and an auto) I finally have the perfect combo for my needs.

Cheers,

Mark

Wakeboarding. I'm goofy (vernacular to describe a riding position where the left leg is in the back.

Stealth has run low 9's with his. My tuner has several 9 second passes on his.

As for costs .. The RPM 4L60's are a little over $2,000, Yank convertors are another $1,000. Probably another $1,000 - $1,500 in misc items like torque tube, bell housing, shifter, etc. And then you have to factor in labor. Labor prices vary widely from region to region.

Thanks Pete - value is up to the individual. For my needs the auto is the way to go. If I were planning on doing a lot of road racing I would keep the stick. For daily drivers the auto is pretty pimp.

I can't say yet on the #'s, but it's safe to say that it will have quite a bit more than the 600 rwhp it had last season.

In a roll-on situation, do you manually downshift the car? With all that power on tap it would seem that if the car downshifted, on it's own at 3/4-full throttle, you would lose traction.

I put it in "D" and that's that. It's very easy to modulate power with the throttle to work around traction limitations.

The car is so smooth that I have to watch the speedo to check for tire spin. It was kinda neat seeing my speedo jump to over 100 MPH when I was just cruising on the freeway at 70 MPH and layed into it (only for a moment).

I will say laying a black patch and doing a smoke show couldn't be easier. lol

Congrats Mark,
But for Christ's sake, take it easy for a little while. We seriously don't want to read about a "high speed incident".

BTW, I've mastered the 2-3-4 sideways/drift, powershifts so I'm getting
more confident on the 355's but have a new wheel/tire combo being built. Stay tuned.

Oh yah, that Phil guy is "OK"

George

Hey Mark do they make a boost controller that can control how much boost for each gear? That way 1st and 2nd can be on lower boost and by 3rd you are full tilt...

I believe that the Viper guy's are doing that with an AEM. I don't know if anyone has run one on a Vette though.

nnnoooooooo i opened this thread honestly hoping to find that the textralia twin or something was the best clutch ever haha or a new one was comming out.

yeah auto sure is the way to go, no doubt about that. nice mild stall, car sounds quiet as it did stock, blow the doors off anything from a standstill or a roll.

congrats with the new setup and im sure you will never want to go back. now you can drive your car in stop/go traffic without having do to the pause and 360 degree ankle rotate every so often haha.
