Default Reduced Engine Power

Hey guys I got back from the track with new tune and setup. I get reduce engine power when I am in the burn out box. If it doesn't do it in the burn out box then it does it right after launch. I have one code that comes up on the display it is a TCS C1278 . What do you guys think is the problem? Any help much appreciative.

When your engine flexes on acceleration does it pull on the sensor wires and loosen the connection?...its worth checking, it was happening to me

Z06wanted, did they ever get the problem with the HP worked out at the shop? Did you get an updated dyno result?

Thanks.

That problem was due to the 1514 not the 1278.
You never e-mailed me the tune Shane. We spoke about the connections. Have you checked them all yet?

Here is one more point. I turn traction control off and it does it near immediately. Hold button down to put it in Competive driving mode it takes a few seconds to go into deduced power management but allows to do a 4 to 5 second burnout before it does it.

So the only code you have (related or not) is the P1278? Usually the problem causing the Reduced Power Mode is something else and the PCM disables traction control.
Bill Curlee did a writeup and had the same issues and it was the grounds. Here's the thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...tion-long.html
Next, I have seen the well respected Curlee mention that it could be caused by low batt voltage from the hot or ground side and even a corrupted serial data bus ( found in the door boot a few times before) . Other things that will cause it are the TPS wiring, TB wiring, accelerator wiring. Many of these will throw codes though. Also check your throttle body for smooth physical operation with no interference.

If it is hitting 1514 you need to scale your VE and IFR tables back around 15-20% to not hit 2.33g/cyl and you should be good to go. Just go back and log and do a few VE passes and you should be good to go.

I believe you chimed in when I had this issue. I scaled mine 30%. It happened to be the magic number b/c at full boost I am at the end of the timing table. I was able to ramp timing down according to each lb of boost.

I would be surprised if this is not the issue after the OP's blower install.

Bret and I talked about your issue over the phone...I had a similar issue with my car and mine turned out to be the throttle body. When I had the problem, I had NO codes...trust me it was very frustration as I triple checked all the grounds, connections, door boot, battery/alternator, as well as talked with Bill C. about 10 times on the phone and I still couldn't track it down. I fixed the issue with a new TB...I dont know what was wrong with the old TB as it appeared to operate correctly (the blade appeared to operate correctly) but I swapped in a different one and I never got a REP code again. See if you can just borrow someones TB first to see if that fixes it.

Mine was fine on the Dyno, but as soon as I "entered" boost on the street, it went to reduced power.
I changed the 1514 tables and it fixed it.
