It has been my personal experience that comparable powered N/A and nitrous cars do better than F/I cars. I can't explain it. It's just the way I have personally seen it go down.
With Centri's, boost is progressive. With nitrous, low end torque is ridiculous. So much so that you really need to keep it from coming on at too low of a RPM if you don't want to lift heads or break stuff.
You want an honest opinion. Ask a person that has had nitrous and turbos on the same car. Hey!! That would be me. Too many variables to be honest. My nitrous setup at the same rwhp level as my current setup felt faster. Could be due to my nitrous setup was lighter and made more tq.
great thread guys!! a pleasure to read this thread
my centri just dynoed 892 rear wheel and 798 torque, I cant imagine
anybody ever needing more hp, and the power is there as long as there
is fuel pressure, and alky....it pulls to the moon, and I may give twin turbo 427 a serious run for the money....all set ups have their pros and cons, the belt issue is now a thing of the past with the cartek flip drive, and the blower is so quiet you dont hear it...best of luck to all
and may your bottles always be full!!! nitrous hits very hard though, and I hear its very tough on the crank and the driveline. And dont forget Nitrous aint cheap either. How often does a nitrous motor need a rebuild, I am going on my 4th year with my motor.....

[QUOTEe=zoomz;1572248545]I put over 70k miles on my stock motor spraying it on the weekends and against the ocasional mustang on the way to or from work .
Im sure your motor will last a long time when you drive it on the weekends .[/QUOTE]
A purpose built nitrous motor (street/strip) will also last a very "long" time. As long as the engine (nitrous) is operated within the required safety parameters, you will be good to go for years.

I am running the stock bottom end of a 50,000 mile '99 FRC with H/C/I/E making 460 and 400 to the wheels on just motor. I have been running a 100 shot and upped it to a tuned 150 shot and there is absolutly nothing wrong with my bottom end. The car has gone 10.50 @ 136 with a horrible 1.61 60'... again... on the STOCK BOTTON END! These motors are strong and nitrous isnt as horrible as you think.
If by chance my motor does let go then I will be looking for a high compression 408 iron block and I will be spraying a 400 shot through that. Ive been boosted and its no where near as fun as spray.
Slow your roll there cowboy. I use to sport a 408ci iron setup with over 300rwhp shot and I can tell you there is no tire that is going to hold that power on the IRS. I raced on a much smaller shot. The tq hit is too much of a shock. I cracked my right rear quarter trying. Save the 100lbs and roll with a built stock cube LS1/2/3/6. I use to take down 850rwhp Supras in my F-body just making a tad over 700rwhp and almost 900rwtq going from a slow roll to 140mph. FRC's are much lighter. You have no worries sticking with stock cubes and spray. Also I would suggest 2 and even 3 small stages with nitrogen push.

There was a time I use to terrorize the Tampa Bay Area. That was many years ago... When some were talking about making 600rwhp I was making over 800rwhp.

Same here , but it was Orlando and the Supra Forums

Good info. Funny you talk about the nitrogen push. I just went through hell with my NANO kit trying to get it filled with nitrogen or compressed air and NO ONE in my local area will do it. Nano tried to find a solution to no avail. SO I sold that crap and threw a heater in the car. LOL
Thanks guys for the responces. My 402 is being built for spray. My builder is telling me that it is bullet proof but I guess only time will tell. Hopefully, I can get some dyno numbers posted on here in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait to see how that hit of nitrous is gonna feel.

JDaniel this is what Im shooting for what type of tires do you run?

what would a full nitrous kit will all the bells cost? what can you expect for install cost? I'm also looking at this for my car..
Nitrous Outlet had complete Corvette specific wet plate kits for right around $1000 when I ordered on Monday. They have gone back up to closer to $1300 since. It includes everything you need including the blow down tube, purge, 10lb bottle, colder plugs, and bottle heater. The sky is the limit if you want to start adding $400 gauges, automatic bottle openers, NANO, etc. I originally wanted all the fun stuff too but once the price was halfway to a supercharger I quickly grounded myself.
The install prices I've seen start around $600 with a blow down tube and purge. Additional electronics and wiring outside of the basics will drive that up.
