Shortblock is ordered and should be here by the beginning of next week.
LM7 Iron block, GM crank,-3cc Forged pistons, Forged H-beam rods with ARP rod bolts.
More than enough engine to handle what my little TC76 can put out maxed.

Something keeps bothering me. Why cylinders 4 and 6? I pulled the drivers side plugs first expecting trusty old 7 or 5 to be dead. I was suprised when it turned out to be the center pistons on the side that my manifold sits. Is it my manifold design? Or maybe the overlap of my 228R cam. Perhaps a combination of the two? 
You have a good question about the manifold design, I'd look into that before installing the new short block.

On the bright side I will now have a complete block and heads to use as a jig for turbo hotside development

Thanks to my engine seizing almost immediately my turbo turbine only has tiny dings in two blades. Totally usable.
All of this fell out of my manifold when I unbolted it!
passenger side head off...
Spare parts, notice the broken timing chain....
Maybe I'll make a Lamp for my office.....
