Here's my setup from DMC Racing. The receiver portion of the mount is welded onto the rear frame cross brace and braced in all 4 directions as its also used as the mount for the DW Trailer's tow ball.
I love how mine is set up. Just pull the plate out of the way, undo one 3/4 bolt and swap away. Without either the chute or ball mounted there's just a small hole left in the bumper cover.
You won't find a nicer fitting 8.50 cage in a C5 anywhere.

Damn, that is a nice fitting cage. Who did you have install that? I'm gonna have to keep them on my wish list for when I'm ready for this to be done. Very clean bro!!

Cage/chute/ball as well as the exhaust is all done by DMC Racing is Halifax MA. They've don't a few of my cars and the only shop I'll use for fab work at this point. As clean as the cage looks in pics I can assure you its WAY nicer in person. I've actually had people ride in the car and fail to notice that it was even there. The funny part is, my car is small potato's compared to the stuff they turn out on a daily basis.
You should see how the exhaust fits under this thing (with a 4L80)...its a work of art. Check out their site if you're bored...
how much did the cage cost you. im shopping around right now for a 10pt installed with window net and swing outs
A lot.....a real lot. Truthfully though, it was 100% worth it. Its literally the nicest fitting cage in a C5 that I've ever seen and the attention to detail is second to none at DMC. I don't have the receipt in front of me as I type this out but if I remember correctly it was in the $8-10K range for the cage, custom net, chute mount/chute, and trailer ball.
I'm very very picky about how cages are setup....after all, its my life on the line should something go wrong. First thing I look at with ANY cage...is which end of the buckle is mounted to the cage for the window net. I HATE it when builders mount the female bladed end mounted to the cage...brilliant. Lets put this protrusion right by my head shall we....tells me everything I need to know instantaneously.
