I tried to go on their web page and every time it goes to e-tune.com, did they go out of business? I was wanting to check out the mms bracket but can't get any information on it.

Next month (depending on finances) I may be replacing my MMS bracket with the A&A 8-rib. The MMS 'no-slip' bracket setup slips too much with my 3.5" pulley.

denscor,
Most of us ex MMS customers here on the West Coast have brought or shipped our cars to "Andy" @ AandAcorvette.com for reconstruction!
Don't make the same mistake we did-it could be hideously expensive! :mad :mad :mad

Mike use to before his business got away from him. I was very happy with my previous high compression 383 stroker he built. Not a single problem.

You guys remember that very long thread a couple years ago with a guy named "Aaron"? I think he was know as "GDP" here (or something like that). His MMS built motor grenaded and he really got thrown under the bus by all the former MMS Cheerleaders here. He ended up selling his MMS built C5 and bought a stock Z06.

I was going to take my C5 to MMS, but I met Andy here on the CF (when he was a one-horse shop) and I was so impressed with his integrity and knowledge. Now I see a lot of the former MMS Cheerleaders having Andy redo their MMS setups.

I only met Mike Morgan and Al once when they tuned my car (before Andy had his dyno). I have nothing bad to say about them in regards to the way I was treated. But I am so glad I listened to some of the early ATI Pioneers here (Shinobi, Vetterdstr, BluThunder) when I chose Andy for my supercharger mods.

I was driving my old 97 Coupe...had ARE H&C...but ARE is in Canada. I chose MMS because they were here in California and tuning..when I switched cams I had them tune the car. That was after driving it stock for 2 years. I should have left it stock.

I think MMS got to be a bit much for Mike and company, although they did perform a lot of good work. Towards the end I know a few corvette forum guys had some problems (I donÂ’t really know all the details, but most of them were with large scale projects), but most customers were (are) happy with their parts and continue to rip up the local tracks here (I meet them every time I go to the tracks here).

Anyway I think Andy with his reasonable prices and good reputation is the place for engine work now (Don Lee does great work too), and Mike @ Etune using his propriety tuning software (which can do things no one can do with ls1edit), is the place for tuning.

Lots of positive and negative info about MMS on the net..... Being in a high profile business is not an easy thing to do. After all is said and done... I wish Mike Morgan all the best. I hope all of his business troubles work themselves out someday. Mike (if you are reading this) drop me an email sometime and let me know how you are doing ok?

MMS built my engine in my 383 stroker in my 93 TA well, i mean the short block was built well, but the rest was all crap, the nitrous setup was a joke, they used the wrong nozzles for the direct port, they charged me for parts that they didnt even put on, Mike said he tuned it, but he just put some program off another car into my car, didnt even tune it, i feel that place is a joke and they took advantage of a 17 year old kid that didnt know much at the time.

Terry you have always been an MMS Cheerleader and ignored the facts. As far as tuning goes to say nobody can do what MMS did with proprietary tuning is he couldn't even get Richard's (Highrpm) car to idle right....even for $30K that car left the shop not right. I have heard (maybe it is not true) that you were somehow responsible for MMS "Proprietary Tuning". MMS had bad customer service and was a nightmare for many people..those are the facts..and the reason he is out of business..not because his business got to big...I am sure that is what Joe (MMS Mechanic) thought when he was told he was going to get layed off from a guy who just bought a brand new SUV. I am sure that is what at least 6 C5 owners whose Proprietary Tuning was done at 12.9-13.1 AFR on a 248H Dynojet (which AFR is approx. 1 pt. leaner than when on the street or a Mustang Dyno) on FI Cars thought when their cars blew up shortly after. So far LS1edit has produced the highest ls1 FI cars with a GM PCM and high impedence injectors...if you want to talk FAST/ECU or Speed Density Tuning than that is different..but so far I have not seen anybody with a higher D1 or F1 Vette than Richard's or Steve's cars.....none which were both tuned with LS1edit.....

Kevin...you are soooo right. MMS was a nightmare to deal with. Mike would not address many customer problems and always seemed irritated when I questioned anything. My car took 9 months to develop.... I wasn't upset about that, its just that my car wasn't tuned properly, it wouldn't idle. Mike told me he put in 58lb injectors, when in fact they were 50's. When I took it back for 6.0l heads and 233/244 cam, I gave MMS a new set of O2 sensors.... they didn't install them, they kept them!!! When I took off the 1 3/4" headers to install the 1 7/8" Kook's I noticed the old O2 sensors were cross threaded and had not been changed. I had loose wires, the fan shroud was just stiing there, not bolted down. Bolts were missing from the power steering pump.... all in all, a very shabby job. So far my 427 motor seems OK..... but then again an outside machine shop did the work. Andy has been great, he fixed all the shabby work by MMS and tuned my car with LS1edit. It now idles good and 800rwhp speaks for itself.

I had a pretty negative experience with MMS, as well. It took them about 8 months just to put in my 427. I gave them a ton more money to do the rest of the stuff then it turns out they never did it because they were planning on going out of business... Oh well, what can you do. I am now dealing with Rob who used to be the mechanic at MMS. He has his own shop in a different location in Van Nuys but uses the same phone # as MMS. He's been AWESOME to work with. I can't even tell you how nice it is to be able to call and talk with someone everyday about my car and the status. Everything is getting done really fast (finally) and soon my dream car will be done! He even took me to the track and taught me how to drag race. Very cool.
