this was fun. i don't spend much time in this section but i wish i had prior to buying my a.t.i kit. it also sucked and i had to install an aluminum radiator and an upgraded fan just so i could drive my car when the temperature was over 75 degrees.

[QUOTE=tattooed
i may not agree with you on everything, but i definitely respect the fact that you try to keep things technical, and have not resorted to calling me names. [/QUOTE]

We are just a group of guys talking about our cars and mods.. sharing all of our experiences. Lets face it, all of our points of view are going to be different even if we are looking at the same thing. IMO, there is no need to get personal.

I am glad we have this forum and the ability to talk to others who have experience with the same mods... even if we dont agree on the dynamics of the product or its performance.

Take care man!

Shinobi'sZ,

You wrote, "It is always Tattoo and Hogurt...one of them doesn't even have the stock ATI system anymore..probably because deep down inside he knows it was a POS. . .Some on here are buddies with ATI and they are very close in Kansas. . .reality is that the ATI C5 kit is not at the same level as the other Tuner ATI kits and you are wasting your time and money if you think you can get better results out of them".

Have you actually read any of my posts?

I am fairly certain, I always say, "go with Andy's kit". . .In this thread, I even suggest I will buy all of my future mods from Andy. . .I am not posting information for myself. I am posting so others who don't have access to some of my resouces can make an educated decision. I originally purchased a used ATI kit, I have no regrets. I could have purchased one of Andy's kits for $2-3K more. Instead, I came across a great deal on a regular ATI setup and it worked out. For my savings, I also purchased a cam, gears and a converter. . .not too shabby.

Finally, I am sure you are an intelligent guy, so please don't be offended. I have a difficult time understanding what you write. I am sure it's either because you aren't capable of utilizing the English language in written form, or because I am mentally too slow. . .often, I do not read your posts because it takes too long to decipher. . .regardless, I value your experience and appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge with the forum members.

I am an English major, and am a 6'0" white guy. Maybe you can't decipher what I write because you can't read or maybe its the spell checker, or I don't take the time to give a damn because you don't listen anyway.

My friends in the Special Forces gave me my nickname "Shinobi". It is just carry over from my "hey days"...go decipher the name and learn something. The best advice I can give you for today is not to be presumptuous based on somebody's forum name. But you are not alone...can't tell you how many times I have been to a forum event or gathering and somebody says, "oh I thought you were Japanese".

Or maybe I have tried every intelligent way to tell you that ATI sucks and have looked for lower forms of communication as a courtesy..just kidding...(not about the ATI part..just communicating with you). I hope this makes it better.

I lived in Kansas when ATI first started. As a matter of fact I was friends with a guy who was one of the first to have a blower from them installed on his Mustang. His car overheated many times and he ended up with a cracked cylinder wall and water in his cylinders. ATI would do nothing and they did the install. In fact they blamed the owner of the car. This is one reason why I went with Vortech. As much as I think ATI is a crappy company, I believe their product affords the most potential because of guys like Andy and others who build brackets and 8 rib pulley setups. With the Vortech, I'm stuck with the 6 rib pullies and thus limited in how much power I can make without belt slippage. I think that if you go with ATI then only get their head unit and the brackets elsewhere. ATI is a second rate company with a good product. I could see someone, like Vortech, buying them out one day.

Special Olympics......I won the gold for speaking ebonics as a white guy..pretty fly for a white guy.

The Black Project is coming a long well...I am trying to choose whet (sic) kind of engine management to use...there are so many endless possiblities....I want some computer management this time around..don't want to depend on the PE tables when the MAF gets maxed out.

Oh yeah ATI makes a great head unit..it would be nice if Vortech bought them out. Maybe they would learn something about customer service and they would earn customer loyalty instead of acting like they have never heard of the problems...yet so many in the Fbody community had problems of the same type...I guess they are all liars too because they have Camaros and Firebirds...oh wait I have one of those too.

Are you kidding me? I made no assumptions about your race, age, sex, or ethnicity. I made an observation regarding your ability to write utilizing the English language. Obviously, we all make mistakes; however, you often ignore the simple rules of writing the English language.

Would you like an example?

1. Do you ever feel the need to use commas appropriately?

In this thread, you wrote, "VR I have listed the same things you did (for the most part) going back for 2 years on other threads regarding the same thing".

2. Ah, you do use commas afterall. It looks like you misplaced the commas in the run-on sentence below. As an English major, I am certain you understand the importance of using commas appropriately? If you fail to use punctuation correctly, the meaning of sentences can be drastically altered. Take a look at your sentence below:

"I am through, this is for the newbies beware of anything coming out of the ATI factory, and that includes their horrible customer service".

3. Are you kidding me? Periods and commas cannot be used interchangeably. Additionally, if you are an English major, I would suggest you start over. Please take a look at the sentence below:

Some on here are buddies with ATI and they are very close in Kansas....I guess ATI is OZ for the Kansas crowd, its hard for a few to click their heels to come back home, because home equals reality, and reality is that the ATI C5 kit is not at the same level as the other Tuner ATI kits and you are wasting your time and money if you think you can get better results out of them.

To clarify, I am sure you know your stuff about Corvettes; however, I can't actually read your posts because I have an overwhelming urge to stab my eyes out with a hot knife! When I attempt to read your postings I struggle with how badly you mutiliate the English language.

You don't like ATI, I get it. Everyone gets it! Now, can we please return to the original intent of this thread? I'd like to see pics of the new setup. Perhaps you could just comment on what specifically makes the new setup better, worse, or indifferent?

I was one of the people who bought one of the first kits out and had it installed by a local tuner. What a nightmare, super chips tuning, overheating, idlers seizing up, belt alignment, etc. Being a new kit I expected some problems but not all those.

Sometimes you pay more to play and I don't have a problem with that, but calling customer support and trying to get quality answers and having people me was unexceptable. They make a great head unit, but I have to agree with others that their customer service sucks.

Vendors are selling kits for $6-8,000 dollars, I had to spend well over $10,000.00 to get my car running right.

If your driving around the street with run flats and want to make 450rwhp the stock kit might be okay. If your reading this post and you are looking for more out of the package, spend the money up front for a customized kit and you won't regret it.

Good Luck.

I tell you what regarding my English,,,,,,,,,you don't talk about it and I won't talk about the positions your sister likes to do it in. JK it might not have been yours.

I have wrote thesis papers, just because I don't choose to follow the proper rules when posting in this forum..doesn't mean **** about ****. But you did a good job changing the subject to get the focus off of ATI. I especially like the fact that you wanted to start a thread on whether people like ATI's C5 kit or not. I find it interesting as more time goes on in this thread, that more people are responding on what a POS it is.

If you have anything esle you would like to say personally to me...please come discuss it in person...otherwise...STFU.

As far as me liking ATI, it is obvious as the post go on that others share the same feelings. Why do you think that is Genius?? Do you think it is because all of us called ATI because we had seized idler pullies???? My goal is not to say how much I hate ATI, it is to let potential buyers know that ATI cost many of us a lot of time and money, and that they **** on us when we tried to inform them of the problems. Don't be such a toad.

you and 3 other people on this forum clearly are going FAR FAR out of your way to discredit ATI. you post anti-ATI crap in every thread in this section. all you do is whine about ATI. whine, whine whine. for years now. in EVERY damn thread you post in.

no. your goal is to constantly, repeatedly, always post as much as possible about how much you hate ATI. about how much you think ATI sucks. the only reason why others join in is because you give people no choice. you direct personal insults and vulgar, obtuse language to anybody who supports ATI. because of you and three other people here, the FI forum is a joke. you have completely hijacked this forum with your personal attacks and insults directed to anybody who had a good experience with ATI. none of the SC manufacturers post in this forum because of YOU. they post on other sites, but not here.

kw

p.s. and clearly, "Shinobi" is not appropriate for you at all. you do not have any of the qualities of a Shinobi. a more appropriate username would be "Drunken Wu Tang".

Not true, I posted for one reason and one reason only. My experience with the stock kit and ATI customer support was a joke. I am not trying to build vendor sales either. If their new kit is better thats great, maybe others won't have to go through what I did. That is the only reason for my posts.

If I had to do it over again I wouldn't have bought the kit. I do find it interesting that several of the best tuners on this board don't even sell prochargers as an option, and other vendors that do only use the head unit.

Hogurt, I hope you got your new ride running strong and everything is working out for you after your accident.

Nice job defending your boyfriend Tattoo. I never threatened him with violence. In fact I asked him to take personal issues up with me in person not over the internet.

Anyway it appears that others feel the same way that I do about the ATI C5 Kit. There are many more that have had problems too, that I am sure do not want to get involved here for the sake of discussion (I can't say that I blame them).

As for you and Hogurt, I think the two or you should go work for ATI's customer service division. They could really use a couple of guys like you. When customers write in a complaint you could spell check it for them vs. addressing the real problem.

The bottom line is....."it is what it is" and that is ATI released a very poor quality kit for the C5. A lot of people got burned by their customer service and product..not only in the Corvette Community but the FBody Community as well. You need to recognize that myself and many others are not going to let that be forgotten (whether it be on this forum or on ls1tech forum)...for the very simple reason that it was wrong.

You and Hogurt have thrown more personal insults on this thread towards forum members than anybody else. It has truly distracted everything. You come on here and start talking about ATI like they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, and then when people oppose that, you argue and start talking about English and anything else you can think of.

As for my forum name, it is just a nickname some special individuals gave me, and their perception of those qualities, is not something you will ever understand...so don't worry about it, unless of course you would like to discuss it face to face. I do much better in those discussions....I don't have to worry about commas.
