That's a great idea. I need to do this, I hit that damn thing all the time in the parking garage at work at 7:45am....sounds like hell itself when it goes off in a closed space.

You guys kill me. I'm in the building business and currently have two houses for sale. I'd be more than happy to let you have them for 100% more than they should cost if you're interested, just let me know. Oh, by the way, count me out.

Steve.
Steve,

I think that's a fair price. I replaced a key fob for my C4 (since it was a vert with passive, it had to be a GM one) It was over 130 bucks list. Owning a bodyshop, I still paid 107.00

I'd gladly pay 20 bucks more and get the new system, I hate carrying that key ring.

COUNT ME IN!

I like it, but I think there may be a serious problem.

I carry all of my keys on one key ring. The key ring on this fob is all of the way back. Wouldn't the keys dangling 3 inches from the ignition create more leverage and therefore more pressure on the ignition switch?

No, I'm not going to carry 2 sets of keys.

So are my worries about my keys being 3 inches farther from the ignition realistic?
Looks like a very good and functional idea; my interest will depend on price, of course (okay, the wife's approval).

But for those of you concerned about being able to carry more keys, let me tell you why I think this is so functional. I always carry my car keys individually, with other keys on a separate ring. Ain't had a problem with forgetting the ones I need to carry yet, either.

Why do I do this? Because several years ago, I was almost carjacked in a dark, deserted neighborhood at 4 AM. I was just lucky enough to check my right side rearview at the same time the scumbag came creeping and crouching up that side of the vehicle. I hammered the pedal and got the hell out of there. Looked in the rearview as I left, and see this **** flippin' me off with one hand and waving his piece at me with the other. Good thing I was a lowrider in that car. Later that morning, it occurred to me that had the 'jacker been successful in his endeavor, he would have had the car, the car key, the house and office keys, the garage door opener, and the registration, complete with home address. Hey, since he knows where I'll be for a while (if not forever), why not motor on up and see what I've got at the old abode, and do in the wife and kids while he's there?

Well, that's all it took for me to change my ways. They can have the car and the key to it, but the keys to my house and family? No freakin' way. No guarantee a 'jacker wouldn't take the extra time to relieve me of the separate keys, but most of the time these dipweeds want to move quickly and be down the road (late fo' th' crack dealer), so I've got a better chance of holding on to them.

Just my ramble, and a little something to chew on when evaluating the usefulness of a product such as this to you.

I posted earlier as a "Count Me In." but wanted to ensure there wouldn't be any issues regarding not being able to use our Window Valet with your setup? I wouldn't suspect so, but wanted to ask the question none the less. Thanks -

Good question,

ZERO issues with the Window Valet

This unit is identicle to GM remotes (they are GM remotes) so there will be no issues!

I have read a lot of threads that talk about the weak ignition in Vettes. Contributors and mechanics recommend no keychains as this is extra weight and could loosen the ignition leading to failure and expensive repairs. Does this new idea add to the weight or reduce it?

Original Remote, and Key = 1.5 oz.

New Combo Unit = 1.25 oz.
