Looks like a very good and functional idea; my interest will depend on price, of course (okay, the wife's approval).
But for those of you concerned about being able to carry more keys, let me tell you why I think this is so functional. I always carry my car keys individually, with other keys on a separate ring. Ain't had a problem with forgetting the ones I need to carry yet, either.
Why do I do this? Because several years ago, I was almost carjacked in a dark, deserted neighborhood at 4 AM. I was just lucky enough to check my right side rearview at the same time the scumbag came creeping and crouching up that side of the vehicle. I hammered the pedal and got the hell out of there. Looked in the rearview as I left, and see this **** flippin' me off with one hand and waving his piece at me with the other. Good thing I was a lowrider in that car. Later that morning, it occurred to me that had the 'jacker been successful in his endeavor, he would have had the car, the car key, the house and office keys, the garage door opener, and the registration, complete with home address. Hey, since he knows where I'll be for a while (if not forever), why not motor on up and see what I've got at the old abode, and do in the wife and kids while he's there?
Well, that's all it took for me to change my ways. They can have the car and the key to it, but the keys to my house and family? No freakin' way. No guarantee a 'jacker wouldn't take the extra time to relieve me of the separate keys, but most of the time these dipweeds want to move quickly and be down the road (late fo' th' crack dealer), so I've got a better chance of holding on to them.
Just my ramble, and a little something to chew on when evaluating the usefulness of a product such as this to you.
Wouldn't hiding your registration under the carpet be more practical? All other variables being equal with your first experience, it seems like if they get your car and your registration and your garage opener they're in without the house keys.

Yeah and I can see someone telling the officer "yes sir, I have my registration, just let me remove my carpet... I'll be right with you"
Our house has electronic door locks so the only key we carry when we leave is for the car we are driving.
I like the fact we can use our existing remote circuit boards. I don't think too many respondents have a clue how expensive the remote units are. If you are able to get the price down to $25/35 for the shell and blank key I think it may be a runaway best seller.
I don't know if anyone else would be interested or not, but I would love to hear about the process to get something like this going. I'm a mechanical engineer (young one) and would love to hear about the process, but if you can't until the product is released that is fine, just thought I would ask.
That's easy. It looks like an existing shell from an other munufacturer.
Can the blank be released from your fob. Judging from the size and location of the fob to the blank, I don't think it will fit in a standard key cutter.
whats the word on the "testing"? any progress on the manuf. date?
thanks,
red
Testing is still on going (just to make sure), and 6 out of the 8 parts on the unit have entered production the last 2 will start sometime next week once we finalize their designs. I'll try my best to keep you guys updated with news as soon as I hear it!
Pictures of it in the ignition would help me decide, that and price for the "gutless" option. If the "gutless" option is reasonable (>100) I'll probably pick one up.
