And some notes on comments above (cause I want to keep getting your feedback...):
MyVetteDream, please elaborate. I think you want to get rid of the sharp edge at the top of the fascia and this is what luvmyC5 is saying as well. This is definitely under consideration. My idea right now is to have the edge/ledge disappear (smooth out) as it gets to the middle.
Mike, I'm going to try and make the front end shorter than what's on there stock...
BobH and everyone who doesn't like the front edge, do you not think that it matches the rear edge at all? I wanted to get away from completely rolling the front edge--how about no lip/ledge but an edge that is a little smoothed out? (I'm thinking of something similar to the edge above the tail lights where the top and back meet).
Sorry for not seeing this thread until this morning.. I see the front edge got fixed.. very good IMHO..You might think about toning down the louvers in the front as well. You might try black out screens instead of the horizontal lines?..As you know the C-5 is a very subtle and seductive body. Part of its attractivness comes from its simplicity. The "Form Follows Function" mantra. If you stray too far from that you start to change the car into some other car.. just my .02.. But thanks for being creative!!.. always good so see other offerings for a great car.!!
Some people like the fact that there is resemblance to the Ferrari and some people don't. I think that the bottom line should be, does it look good? For those pointing out resemblances to the Ferrari and saying that its negative, please stay tuned, I'll be posting pictures of a C3 front end tomorrow. The C3 has too big inlets on the sides... The C4 has a smaller resemblance as far as the air inlets. Also look at the Ford GT--http://www.fordvehicles.com/fordgt/home.asp?bhcp=1
(that's what the downward slope is going to look like once the bumper reaches the part when it slants down).
NOW its starting to fit into the overall design of the car and DOES NOT
look like a tacky add on. That hard edge HAD to go. It NOW looks awesome
Good job to all who participated in this rendering

I let a little bit more of an edge stay for the moment to show that I picture the downward slope starting a litte earlier:
The only thing that I want to adjust on this picture is to get the edge a little softer and for it to curve a little lower as it moves towards the middle...

That looks even better.
Softening that sharp edge, and moving the line downward gives the front end as a whole a lower appearance. Subtle differences, but in the right direction for sure.
The one on the left looks awesome!!! The grille inside could use some work. A black mesh would look better and a wider opening (lengthwise). I would definitely buy that one. The one on the right looks too much like a 360 modena front fascia and looks kinda ricey on a vette.
I made a few side view chops. I borrowed another member's car picture (sorry for the imposition) and drew over it--but I don't think I left any identifiers behind--it was just a good side view that I could work off of.

Front end changed to show how the new front bumper would look:
I have another drawing of this where the sides slant upwards so I'm considering that as well. I think that I'm going to have a smooth plexiglass sort of material (the kind that covers the frame of the non-popup headlights cover this side area and still let the louvers be seen underneath...
And this is my very first attempt at shortening/reshaping the back if I ever get the chance...
And if I ever get to do this, I have a simple but awesome idea on what to do with a rear spoiler that's subtle but just right...
Me and Neablas appreciate your votes for the "right" front fascia!
Just ribbin' you Mike!
And BobH, say your idea--I think that's bigger than I wanted those air inlets to be... Its just my opinion but I like the horizontal lines--I was thinking about putting mesh behind them to stop large debris from getting through. Most definitely do appreciate your thoughts though.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
