I think every Vette driver should be “Wave Indoctrinated” prior to being able to purchase one.
It’s a matter of pride and courtesy.
Came back from a business trip from Nashville past the NCM and passed four and got no wave. A fifth one (64 coupe) almost broke his arm waving as did I.
I was on my way to work this a.m. and even got a wave from a guy in one of the new Rustangs.
It was the first I saw and they are bigger than the old Mach 1. Sports car, I think not
I read this entire post again and there was only that one jerk that for some reason just can't figure it out, when I got my first vette almost 15 years ago I did not know about it but I did start seeing guy's in other corvettes waving at me and I started to catch on to the rich tradition of the Corvette, and I enjoy being part of it, IMO its a very special club and its just a gesture of a common love of the best American sports car that ever has been or ever will be made!!
I always wave, sometimes the MEN look º¿º at me like I have 2 heads! But I'm persistent, I'll keep waving.

Good Job! The wave has nothing to do with your sex, its the code period. I will admit some of the newer vette owners of both sexes need to be taught. So just be persistant. In my area the wave is very much alive regardless of car year. So just keep waving and smile.
Here in NJ, I wave at every vette. If I don't get a response, no big deal. I don't judge the guy/gal. I just keep driving and staying on the look out for the next vette. But, when someone waves back, I get that stupid little grin on my face every time. When my wife is with me, she also waves! So be on the look out for the 'double wave' from us.
My girl took the vette to work last week for the first time. When she
got home I was all excited to ask her what she thought, and her
answer with a big smile was ... "All the Corvettes were waving at me"
Thanks everybody ...

Bite me. I like my Vette but it is not the best American sports car ever made. I have reserved a special wave for jerks like you. If I dont agree with you I'm a jerk? Keep on living in your fantasy world. You are just another sheep. Why dont you just say if you want to wave, you can wave? If someone doesn't, whatever.
When we bought ours up in PA, obviously had to drive it down to NC, and every single Vette we passed gave a nice big wave!
One fellow in a black C5 coupe even slowed down, got next to us, and shot us a big wave followed by a thumbs-up! He must've seen the 30-day tags and wanted to welcome us to the fam
I never miss an opportunity to wave. If I get one back great. Otherwise I guess its just some nut in a Corvette. I even find myself waving when I am driving our other cars. Tough habit to break for me!
It is not doing great here in the SE. I got snubbed 3 times today in Nam. Last week in GA, a nice C-4 waved at me when I was sitting at a light, and I missed it as I was messing with a cd, and I posted up in the C4 section abaout it. I was :o and fealt like a tard. I wave at every one I see, and even if I am driving my SUV.

Dear Diary: I had a really, really good day today. I drove around and guess what? I saw three Corvettes! I almost peed on myself. And when I waved and waved and waved really hard, a really nice man waved back! Oh my God! I couldn't believe my luck. I was all tingly inside. Mommy said the man waved at me because I'm special. Anyways Mommy is coming in my room with some hot chocolate and is going to tuck me in an tell me a bedtime story about the big bad man in a Corvette who didn't wave back. I'm a little scared though.
I didn't know the "Corvette Wave" was big problem. You can stamp your feet all you want. The point is I don't need to wave to you just because you drive a Corvette. I will if I feel like it. I was on the fence about this, but you have convinced me even more that you are not the kind of person I need to wave to.
It's a free country, so don't wave if you don't feel it's a part of the Corvette tradition. But, if you really feel that way, why do you bother posting on this Forum? It could be construed as wanting to associate with others of similar interests, where as you seem to express a non-social attitude.
I don't have to agree with the wave in order to post on the Corvette Forum do I? the people with the non social attitude are the people who call other people names if you dont agree with them or claim that women Corvette drivers look at them like a "deer in the headlights". That's anti social. It's also anti social to imply that I cant post on this forum if I dont agree with you, otherwise this wouldnt be a forum.

I wave when I see a Corvette, any Corvette. The return waves are hit or mis, usually they don't see the wave to start with. For the ones that see me wave and ignore it, oh well.

Give it a rest, pal. You are missing the entire point of this thread. Some of us are lamenting the demise of the traditional wave amongst Corvette drivers. Nothing more, nothing less.
