Throttles you are correct
Oh we do teach straigh line driving as so many ppl put the acclerator down to the floor when the car is slightly coch-eyed and or lift the accelorator and the rear of the car gets light and swings around.Or ppl just stomp on the accelorator and wonder why the car is not going straight, correct acceloration is to smoothly put the right foot to the floor, not stomp on the gas. So straight line driving is not as easy as ppl think, not quite point and shoot. ANd yes drag race takes an extream amount of skill as with any racing and or performance driving.

My drag racing days were in a 57 chevy with a 454 big block back when I was young and stupid in the mid 70s. I drag raced snowmobies too. We burned nitobenzen - they either blew up or froze up. ALmost got into endo go-karts, wish I could have. But my love was sports cars and the old Can-AM unlimited HP cars at Road America in Wisconsin.

Now I am just old a stupid, but have a love of teaching ppl how to drive performance cars properly, either as an instuctor or an event promotor and have fun at it too.

and as far as Julie wanting her own helmet, I know severl guys that thought it would be great to have their significant other on the track too , well now mods cost them double, prep time is double, tires are double as there are TWO cars to get ready and take care of.

So, did I read this correctly? Are there no more beginner slots available or are there? I just saw this thread today and it would be great for me, since I'm only in Greenville, SC....Can you email me the info if there are still beginner slots available? ssblk1995@yahoo.com. Thanks! Mike

Mike that is correct. The whole school is SOLD OUT. It sold out back in March. Send me your info and I will add you to the wait list.
Mike I can also hook you up with several other guys in the Greenville SC area that do many HPDEs.

Given the stated parameters, I'd be very interested.

Boo! I KNEW I shouldn't have gotten a convertible! Evie would NEVE let me put a roll bar in the vette.

Anybody want to loan me their hard top?

Maybe I can get me a coupe before one of the events next year.

Barber's park in Birmingham, AL is a great track for this type of thing. The Porsche driving experience is here.

Put me down for a beginner slot in the next class. Will this be in 2006? That would actually be fine with me. Thanks.
