Just my 2 cents there
I know there was great customer service and great work when Aaron was there. Waiting to see what happens now.....................I sure would have a hard time giving anyone big money in advance for a job and wait 5 months for it.............How about COD??

As Corvette owners, we owe it to these people to support them as long as they are making good-faith efforts to provide quality parts and services. I, for one, don't like the idea of having to find my Corvette items at the local K-Mart auto section. If we slam every vendor as soon as they hit a bump in the road, we may find ourselves trying to buy our SS letters and Z06 wheels at the local Autozone.

I'm not saying to forgive any mistake or problem, but how much they try to make things right has a lot to do with my personal feelings about a vendor. I can forgive a mistake but I rarely go back to someone who's shafted me and walked away with my money laughing. Those of you who've done business with Performance Design Specialties Inc. are the ones who have to decide which category they fall into, but it sounds to me as if they're trying. I'd give them a break.
Maybe you can give him some cash to help him on his way....Just B/C you own a Corvette or have a Corvette Shop doesn't make you an automatic trusted individual.....If thats the case, I own a Corvette, now give me 10000 and I will make your dreams come true...right???

another person on this forumis still getting screwed by this guy. I won't say who the victum is right now, but I think we should get all the other forum members that have been ripped off by this guy and file with the BBB or state's attorney. This Chuck Mars needs to be stopped!!!!!!!

This victum has also received threatening messages from Chuck as I did.

Default Stay Away from Performance Design Specialties

Stay away from this guy! You will get screwed! He takes the money and doesn't deliver any parts. If you "are waiting a few more weeks" you are likely in the process of losing your wallet.

i read your response twice - to be certain I didn't mis-interpret it.

Reads like an "informercial" for Performance Design Specialties; instead of valid info. You have faith in them - and that can be a good thing.
But those doing business with PDS need results.
Nothing else can substitute for results.

The PMs I got from Chuck ... some were pretty threatening

WARNING!! Don't do business with Chuck Mars if you value your hard earned money and time. I was involved with PDS for a year with nothing but problems. He lies, makes excuses, fabricates stories, and NEVER takes responsiblility for his actions or lack there of. He stated he mailed my refund after 10 months on June 6, 2005. After three weeks he told me to do whatever I want, he doesn't give refunds! He attacked me in emails like he has with several other forum members. I did receive my refund the second week of August! Chuck Mars also had the nerve to call my home and threaten me with a lawsuit for defamation. I wouldn't do business with that a--hole if he was the only aftermarket supplier of parts! BEWARE!!!

Yep, he will threaten all kinds of legal action. He goes on rants about all the things he will do to you. I have never seen a good business thrive by threatening customers. That is surreal. What he is doing to people is criminal and he should be prosecuted. He probably does not have the cash flow to issue refunds.

He was at Bloomington this year. I stopped by his booth and looked at some of his stuff.

He had also lied to me and given me the runaround for months, so I knew that I didn't want anything to do with him.

I saw two different people looking at his products pretty seriously, and I went out of my way to warn them. They were very grateful for the "inside scoop" on PDS.

I will probably do the same thing at Carlisle, and I would suggest that everyone else do the same.

Let's face it, pds has the best looking products, imho. If I see something there that I need and take it with me, I would buy it. But yes we need to warn others that don't know this guy. I would definitely go up to someone and warn them, maybe even in front of 'ol Chuckie and his employees. I can't believe he has the ***** to even show up but then again he has NO conscience.

You are right, their stuff is high quality, but not because of PDS.

They send their parts to Advanced Plating in Nashville, TN, and they do great work, at about one third of the cost. Once I found out who did their plating, I had no further use for PDS!

I know they send there parts out and it is good quality but pds had nice designs on their items that you can't find anywhere else, but their prices were outrageous!

I was taken for ride also, Chuck always sounds so concerned on the phone giving excuses and promises but never delivers. I agree with what has been said by those who have been screwed. Stay away from PDS. If you are still waiting for parts and getting the run around don't waist any more time. Take him to court and file with the BBB. Save some other poor soul from making the same mistake you did.

I call on Chuck.

I can't believe this thread is still going, since I started it in Feb. But it's a good thing especially since Carlisle is coming up and PDS will probably be there selling his products that he will never deliver. Anyone else waiting for something that hasn't been delivered? Speak up and do something about it.
