You'll notice the folks who achieved the most noise reduction were the ones who did not use metal faced insulation.

Walk into a recording studio and the only metal you'll find will be the instruments. Everything else will be covered in foam.
The human ear can detect a 0.5 DB difference. I found that a 3 DB reduction was highly significant.
Note that the DB scale is not linear...and that a 10 DB change is equal to a doubling of sound. So if I got a 10 DB reduction (not going to happen), I would have a 50% reduction in the interior car noise. I think a 3-4 DB reduction would be outstanding. I will post my DB readings when able to get the car out in the spring.

For my part I would be willing to pay you for that comment. I have found your advice to be understandable and correct. For the life of me I cannot understand why some on this form appear to need to take offence and argue. Keep up the good work E-T

Offense and argue? Arguement started because a simple and totally logical question was asked and it was ducked. There is no arguement of if the application works just how well it works. Anyone that has common sense should want to know if their hard earned dollar and precious time if worth spending. The only way to know that is to do a few tests. Same application applies to motor work. Are you going to buy an exhaust just because someone says it made the car faster or becuase they showed you a dyno graph that showed HP gain? Then you can compare that information to the information provided by the other products. Then an intelligent decision can be made. On this topic it takes the same amount of time to install Frost King as it does Dynamat. Since the time is not the issue the performance and cost is. But the performance can out weigh the cost and vice versa. Let's just say the Frost King removes an average of 3db across the board and the Dynamat removes 5db. Then obviously Frost King is the way to go. BUT if the Dynamat removes 15db isn't the added cost and very minumal weight worth the extra performance gain? That is the kind of information that should be known by someone that has done "extensive research". I am not bashing ET entirely just on this subject.

The actual quote is " When you're dead, you're dead for a long time",. Many of my friends mimic that expression too, I have been using it for many many years, I am not sure if I coined that expression, I would give credit elsewhere if I remembered if I made it up or heard it from someone else.. as far as I can remember I made it up...
but them, "Memory is the second thing that goes when you get to be my age... "I can't remember what the first thing was "

Guys I worked with use to call them "Billizims"...

You Know "EATRICE".. your comments are beginning to make you look ugly in so many forum members eyes... you keep using the words duck, proof etc...
I don't have to offer up anything to you or anyone... You are ramming your professionalism down everyone's throat, and after you have beaten this to death you would think common sense would say "Back Off"
They say a "Man who wraps himself up in a big box with pretty ribbon makes for a very small package"

I've answered your duck questions several times..

Here is the deal, I have never forced this on anyone , I never offered any proof, I never posted this in open forum. I did this for me...I did this before I knew this forum existed. I am not selling this or asking anyone to use it. If I am bleeding, I put a bandage on, I don't test to see how the bandage works, and collect data so I can show other that a bandage works, although I did test the materials for their compliance with GM guidelines for FMEA certification..
It was only after months of other forum members asking me to post something about this, that it became a public offering.. in fact, Mike Mercury did an in depth tutorial on this subject.. not me... if hundreds of people are happy with this light weight inexpensive mod, I would have to think common sense would dictate that it must do something..

I have to wonder -- maybe another poll. With so much time/words/research/effort/emotion/vitriol being dedicated on this subject -- how many of the people here complaining about excess noise in their cars made changing the exhaust to a louder one their first or second mod? If we can all acknowledge that changing the exhaust does little or nothing in the way or performance then increasing the "noise/sound" was of minimal concern at that time. I remain confused as to what people expect from these ground based rockets. Yes there are cars that are faster - yes there are cars that handle better - yes there are cars that ride better -yes there are cars that are quieter and have more creature comforts but no car offers the speed, handling, braking, Perma-grin that a Corvette does. If I want it quiter I put it in 6th gear and turn up the CD player.

Here...I'll say it again, Thanks ET and Mike for your efforts and instuctions on the FK/R13 mod. It made a significant of difference in the interior sound in my CE...

Oh ugly in so many forum members eyes. Oh damn maybe I should not try not find out the facts about something. You did duck. Had you answered the very first time this conversation would not be taking place. A simple "no I did not test for that" would have done the trick. But you decided to ignore all of my coments. Where I am from that is called DUCKING. See I am one of those people that says it how it is. You think I have never been not liked before? Do you think there are people that I will meet in the future that do not like me? Now here is the real kicker....do you think I care? Not to mention the other people who say the same thing about you. Big freaking deal. You think I am going to loose sleep over it? No freaking way. You call me what you like and don't worry, I will do the same.
