Vert or Coupe?

Here in Dallas the top is never up on either one of mine, starting in March (I.e., went to a car show this past Saturday, top donw - what a ride!).
As you know, Dallas is warm to very hot in the summer (wich lasts for approx 6 months here
). It is the time for a Vert
BTW, a great club a great club is local (Lone Star Corvette Club http://www.lonestarcorvette.com/). It is the largest in the world, with over 1100 members and approximately 1500 Corvettes
We do a LOT of thing, khauna, drag, road trips ranging from one day, to weekend, to week or more in time duration(s).
So, get the Vert (and I do suggest that you look in the local area - see the F/S section of the Forum, ot hte LSCC web notted above, etc.). If these don't pan out, fly to the out of state location and drive back to DFW.
It will allow you to really enjoy the Vert.

and where in fla? one of the guys there would probably be glad to check it out for you.
I love both looks, ecspecially in black....
I say COUPE, the wind doesn't swirl much, when at higher speed 55mph-100mph+, the wind goes right over the top, you don't even feel the wind, just hear it. I'd think the vert would be worse with swirling winds, but I've never had a vert.....yet, so don't know.
Coupe is local, I'd go local, test drive it first, have it checked out too.
I just got my black 02 coupe last year with 20,000 miles for $30,000, I'd think you could get a better deal.....sorry to rain on the parade.
I got mine at Classic Chevy in Grapevine. I had a good experience, give Steve Thomas (the corvette guy) a call up there, he knows his stuff and will take good care of his corvette customers.
My 0.02 cents.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I've done the out of state purchase three times. The first time was a dealer that was very willing to ship it. I'm glad I went there and saw the wreck. I ended up spending 4 days in FL with a rental and found a GREAT deal. Fly out! Nothing to risk and everything to gain. BTW- A vert with Z51 and HUD Vs. a coupe without for more $$? Not if they are in the same shape. Go online with Orbitz.com or Priceline right now and get out of town.

IMO- Verts are over rated, and I am not saying that because I own a coupe, I was very close on getting one myself.
I think the coupe offers the best of both worlds. If you get a vert make sure the top does not leak. Many threads on that here.
In this case, since the Vert does seem to have more options Z51, HUD etc..I might lean towards it....but if it were same option list and miles on the clock..I would choose the coupe. I have to laugh(with all due respect) about the concern of "wind vortex" in the coupe, in the 9 months or so I have been on the forum, I have never seen a thread or complaint about this until today
but that's just me
IN the end they are all vettes and all beautiful no matter which one you choose.
Good luck.
Whoever said all Corvettes are red got it wrong.
