2004 CE Vert.

Only 300 miles (was in storage while overseas), dreaded fuel gage problem (will use Chevron from now on), 1 wheel sensor not reporting (will retrain or bring to stealer ).

Other than that, waiting for the weather to get nice to put on some miles, had it for 16 months already, and have not been able to really drive it.

I'm not familiar with the weeping problem. Can you be more specific?

My modded 03 Z has been perfect and I have added many mods that could have caused all sorts of problems.

My 99 was this way too. So I really can't say the newer cars are better. I must have gotten two great examples of the car, because neither of two cause me any problems.

The C5's typically start leaking around seals on the casing (where the half shafts slide in) and throws oil up over the exhaust tubes and out the back. On long distance drives, you can usually smell the oil residue on the exhaust after shutting off the engine. You can also see a light film of oil on the rear end. My '03 Coupe started leaking around 12,000 miles and my '04 vert had the same problem around 9,000 miles.

About what does it cost to fix this seal problem. Should I get an extended warrantee for my 02. It's factory warrantee expired last October. It has 16000 miles.

I purchased my 03 anniv. ed. new in May 03. It now has almost 21K miles. Only issue I have had was a leaking rear differential at 3500 miles. Dealer fixed it on first try under warranty. Then I changed out my 3.15 gears with 3.73 gears and TC around 6000 miles at ECS. Has been perfect since. This one is a keeper.

Well, if it isn't leaking don't worry about it. I have no idea of the cost since both of mine were covered under new car warranty. Maybe someone like Fitchner Chevrolet can reply to your question (see Vendors in this forum).

I have a 98. No problems except the display on the climate control going out, and the Tranny being replaced at 19,000 miles. Oh wait, I'm a 98 you didn't ask me.
