Great story, make sure to get a picture of you both in the Vette so he can put a colored pic next to the b/w in his wallet. I'll bet it will stay with him forever.....and he'll show it to everyone as a lasting memory.
Great Story, Tomorrow, I am taking my 83 yr old Father, a Normandy Vet also, to the WW2 VE Day celebration in my (had it just over a month) 2000 Convertible. He loves it, We are surprising him with a ride home in a 42 WW2 Jeep...Bet he'd never have imagined. May 8th, 60th anniversery of VE Day...Keep the Faith.
I'm jealous, you are Blessed to have the opportunity to meet someone like that. Don't just take him for one ride, stop by every once in awhile and take him out for ice cream or something, maybe take a picture of him by the vette for him to look at once in awhile. This is a great experience for the both of you to enjoy.
From: You should have told him it would not hit 185 if you dropped it out of the back of a C130 with 4 heffalumps inside trying to get to the Golden Corral.
what a great story. in this day of drive by shootings, mom's killing their own kids, and assorted other pos's among us it is so great to see a story like this. you have heaven points indeed!
AWESOME STORY, Thanks so much for sharing, like everyone, I will await your post with pictures after the ride. It sounds like you have made a great new friend.
Add my thanks to the many for his service of this fine country!
Enjoy, you are luckier than someone who has won the lottery!
Great story. Do us a favor and take some pics of you and him smilin and drivin
We have a couple of "older folks" in the club I belonged to in SoCal - he is 90+, she is 87, and they have a gorgeous '67 BB coupe, and a white '94 convertible. He no longer drives, but SHE will get it on with the best of us...

Now that's cool. It's great to see them out enjoying the passion.
Outstanding gesture on your part. Individuals like you make me realize that there are good and caring people in this world despite all the horror stories we may hear. May God bless you.
