I'll keep you all posted and will try to get some pics.
Hope that he is available with it being Mothers Day etc.
It's funny how things go around.
My Dad would have been his age if he hadn't passed away a number of years ago.
The old boy brings back quite a few memories.
When I bought my first Vette my Dad refered to it as that "damn plastic car".
When he drove it for the first time he had a ball. Scared the heck out of my Mother who rode with him.
I followed him through Boston in their Town Car, or at least I tried to.
He loved it, but he wouldn't admit it.
Two sayings come to mind "growing old is Mandatory, Growing Up is Optional!" "Never regret growing old, it is a privilege denied to many!" kudos for you thouhtfullness, everyone should be so respectful and kind to our seniors. Many of us will be there someday.

Yesterday evening the wife and I went to Blockbuster to get a movie. I waited outside in the Vette while she went in. She went into the Kroger store afterward.
While I was sitting there an old man, I mean old approached me.
He walked up and looked in the window and asked if it was the new Corvette.
I told him it was a 99’ and he just shook his head.
These things are beautiful. He added.
He said he had a new one in 56 and proceeded to open his wallet and show me one of those old black and white pictures with the serrated edges of him and a 56.
We talked for 30 minutes or so until his granddaughter came by to get him. She was all over the parking lot looking for him for 20 minutes or so as he’d wandered off to see my car.
Talked to his granddaughter and found out he was 92, was on the beaches at Normandy, fought in the Korean War and had owned 3 Corvettes, the 56 being his favorite.
His granddaughter also told me that he is in the Methodist home near us so set it up that Sunday I’ll go by and pick him up and take him for a ride. Should be fun.
Life is amazing.
Way to go Ben! Take pictures of the old vetter and tell him hello from all of us! And tell him that some of us still remember and appreciate what he did in Normandy and Korea too! If he's still up to it, he might enjoy getting online and reading about Corvettes. You never can tell. My mom's 86 and she's beats the Internet to death!
