My last three performance cars were all red... Ive never had a ticket in 45 years of performance driving...
Red cost no more to insure, but there is something special about red. FYI red paint is more expensive than any other stock ( not exotic pigmented ) paint. Red paint can be 20% more per quart than any other factory paint color.
Maybe by extension.....red is a color thats going to draw more attention, including from the LEO's. If you're speeding I think a red car is going to get pulled more often that driving another color.....nothing to support that but if so, then the insurance is going to end up costing more in the final analysis........
I upgraded last year from a '96 Sebring Silver coupe A4 to an '02 Millineum Yellow convertible MN6 and my insurance with GEICO only went up a few dollars on a 6 month policy. I checked on the insurance before I bought the '02 fearing a significant difference.
Is it true that red cars cost more to insure? And do they statistically get into more accidents?
It is true for red motorcycles. They are "over represented" in the accident department. Psychologists will tell you that red motorcycle buyers have a more aggressive personality trait. Don't know much about red corvette drivers - mine is yellow.

Don't worry. I set the perfect example of responsible driving while on school grounds. I leave the school parking lot well under the speed limit everyday and come to a full and complete stop at the corner Stop sign.
Once I turn the corner and am out of sight, it's another story...
