Did I get ripped off?
That is the car I just bought on Saturday. Really clean for the most part. It's been on there for a couple of weeks now, for that price. They don't update their website very often, and still have it on there.
So, I bought the car for $24,500...which the salesman at the time started off at $25,000. (And, incidentally, is probably a little high for that year and mileage, but I can live with that.)
I kept thinking while we were making the deal, I could have SWORE that car was listed for 23K something...and sure enough today, I happen to look on Autotrader, and they had it listed at that.
It needed a new battery, and the tires are pretty rough. So he knocked off $500 from it.
I get home, 60 miles away, and the blinkers stop working. The HUD stops showing MPH sporadically. So I go buy a battery for $80, and I put new bulbs in the front.
I thought that fixed the problem, but no, the signals stop working periodically again, which, after searching this forum, I find is a problem with 2000's.
The column lock message came on yesterday, but hasn't came back on since.
So, essentially, I bought a car for $24,500 that:
Needs new tires within a few thousand miles (my fault for agreeing)
Needed a new battery. (my fault for agreeing)
Has electrical goblins. (They did NOT tell me that)
Was falsely advertised on their website. (They did NOT tell me that)
I'm seriously thinking about going back there tomorrow and returning it under Florida's three business day "right of recision" law.
The name of the dealershop, as illustrated in that link, is Hillsboro Auto Mart.

For what it's worth, it's a really low hassle, low pressure family owned dealership with a lot of decent people working there.
However, I feel like I got ripped off on this deal.

Honestly, I don't think I'd pay $22K for it given all that stuff coming up.
I'll very likely be returning it.

They gave me a $10 voucher to get gas from a gas station while I was test driving it, and it said on the readout "RESERVE FUEL" at that moment.
After I bought the car, they wouldn't even fill it up. I think that's the first car dealership I ever went to where they didn't fill up your tank after buying.
God, why did I buy this car.
I live in Citrus County, which is 60+ miles away from Tampa, depending where in Tampa I go.
I don't have a lot of time to waste Saturday's driving there again and again, so I'm kinda getting tired of going there.
I'm probably gonna try to get something more local next time...I don't want to hassle dealing with a dealer in Tampa again, ideally.

Be prepaired.

AFAIK, however, under Florida law, any contract is breakable within three business days. Or so I've been told.
