Does anyone know if the harness for the cd changer in the trunk was installed on cars that have only the single cd in dash. I want to install a 12 disk changer ,but don't see any harness.
You need to add the harness from the back to the passenger footwell. I believe that all late model cars have the connection at the footwell, somewhere on the forum was a discussion and I believe that this started during the 99 model year.
Also, check the forum for the instructions. You might want to check with Bob and Ken Fichtner for this information. I believe that you will need a harness, the install kit with the bracket, and CD changer. I am not sure that the CD cartridge comes with the changer or not.
Best of luck, if you need the instruction, just email me, and I will send them to you at the end of the week, when I return from vacation.

They don't come with the harness unless you have the CD changer from the factory. The harness is very easy to install. Took me about 30minutes to install it and about 30more minutes to find the connections under the passenger footwell. One is easy to find and the other one is pushed behind a bracket which makes it kind of hard to find.

Consider installing your cd-changer in the left or right rearmost compartments instead of the center compartment. I had mine changer installed by a sound shop and it fits perfectly in the rightmost compartment (it's the Delco 12 cd-changer unit). I have Lloyd mats including a cargo mat and it's much easier to lift up just a little flap of mat to get at the changer to change cd's. Once in a while the unit skips momentarily but returns to the exact position in the track that it skipped on. I don't know for sure but I bet it doesn't skip anymore in the rearmost compartments than it would in the center. Regardless of whether you intall a Lloyd mat, I think the rearmost location is easier to access.
