Prices go down on all cars....

The other day I saw a 1999 Viper SRT-10 with 30,000 miles selling for 35,000.....Just 6 years ago that was an 80,000 dollar car...

Those 97's and 98's you see for 15,000 will usualy be high mileage...Normal price for a 97 or 98 is 17-22,000..

Think about it.....Even at the bare minimum of 15 grand some people will let the 97 C5 go for....It's not really that bad...

Thet probaly only paid 45,000 for the 97 C5....Now...9 model years later they get 15,000 for it....Thats 1/3 the price....Defiently good for a car that they probaly actualy bought in late 1996 and is actualy 9-10 years old!!!!!

Thats not bad at all.....And most people are getting closer to 20 grand for there low-mid mileage 97's....

I think the base price for the 97 was eighter 39 or 40 grand.....Eighter way most people are getting 1/2 there money mack almost 10 years later....

You think you can get 14 grand for a 97 camaro?

Or 12 grand for a 97 mustang?

Youd be LUCKY to get 1/3 of your money back on most cars 10 years later....

With the Vette theres a good chance you'll get 1/2.

Default C5 value

I think the C5 value will remain higher than most expect...
...they will be buoyed by high C6 MSRP...

I do have a gut feeling that C-5's will never hit the lows of C-4's or C-3's. The engineering advancements and their simplicity are miles beyond the previous gererations.

Your car, especially if its a limited editon, such as LeMans commemorative, or anniversary model, will be at the high end. If tragedy strikes on an increased level with any particular model (tragedy like more are crushed, abandoned, etc.), even more $. Look at how relatively few Cord supercharged Phaetons there are (even at $100,000 plus). Now the bad news is that you'll either have to live a very long time to see this, or your children will be the ones that benefit from it.
Buy it and drive it and enjoy it now.
