I think the coupe has sleeker lines down the back. Don't get me wrong...the verts are niiiice, but my wife owns a convertible sebring so we did not want another.
Having had a vert BMW and now a coupe vette, I like a coupe for 95% of my driving. Realistically you should ask yourself how much you would driving with the top down. Top up the coupe wins, quieter, more trunk space, cheaper.
In a vert top down, I found a lot of the time I was too cold or too hot/sunburned or too windblown. Of course on the occasional sunset drive with perfect weather it was heaven, but that wasn't too often, even out here in california.
Well here's one vote for the coupe--I love the feeling of having a hard top above my head and I can take luggage with me for two for a loooong road trip. I've also transported a 32" TV in the hatchback along with other items... hard to beat...
And actually, what I liked most is the shape of the roofline with the coupe--to me its looks much more graceful/smooth
I just saw a used 2000 DBGM vert for sale. I have a 2000 DBGM coupe. Depending on how much I'd "lose" on the transaction, I'm considering a trade plus cash. Has anyone switched from coupe to Vert? Worth it? Much difference? I've lightly modded my Coupe, so I'd have to "undo" a few things, but I guess my 4.10s would have to go with the car. What do you think?
I haven't had a coupe but really like the Vert. Had a C4 and it was a pain to travel without the trunk. The C5 solved that problem. I'm sure you get a little more noise with the vert up but is great to drive with the top down. I'm going to get the wind screen next spring cause it makes it a lot more pleasant to talk and hear the radio. Don't use mine in the winter months. The top is easy to put up or down depending on the weather or time of day.
Here's some pics of what you are looking at...good luck
You may have this reversed ... I've been in Houston in summer and it's too dam hot to put the top down (like here in the Jax FL area). I'm really enjoying my vert now. It's really not that bad on summer mornings.
If I lived in Jersey and it was my DD, I'd probably lean toward the coupe. But with neither applicable, the vert is the only answer for me.
I went from a 99 sebring silver coupe, and two years later I got a 2001 Mag red 2 convertible and never looked back!! I took a test ride in the vert, and while I loved my coupe and only had 6,000 miles on it at the time, I had to trade it in on the vert! top down driving is amazing!!

The coupe is a good compromise imo.
I totally agree!! First of all get what you want. I love my 03 coupe, I ordered it my way and watched it made in Bowling Green. I can take to roof panel off in the perfect weather and enjoy the openess, and then put it back on for the spoiled American who loves his comforts.
Do it your way and you will love it!! Drive it and have fun !!!
Ordered my 2000 vert in August 1999 and took delivery on Nov. 12, 1999. Had to make several decissions on options wanted, but I I knew it was going to be a vert!!
Two totally different cars in ONE! Top up has a look of hart top. Top down AWSUM!! The look of a vert with the waterfall, open air, All the C5 lines and curves, THE BEST OF THE BEST!
