I just saw a used 2000 DBGM vert for sale. I have a 2000 DBGM coupe. Depending on how much I'd "lose" on the transaction, I'm considering a trade plus cash. Has anyone switched from coupe to Vert? Worth it? Much difference? I've lightly modded my Coupe, so I'd have to "undo" a few things, but I guess my 4.10s would have to go with the car. What do you think?
I changed from a coupe to a vert and now I want a ZO6 and then I will want a coupe and then a vert and then............I have no idea what to tell you!!!!!!!! Why ask me?????????

With the top up, the vert is amazingly coupe-like. Wind and road noise are low, the HVAC system works like a champ, and the headroom (even if you are vertically advantaged) is really great. The only downside is cargo space compared to the coupe (even with the top up) but it is the same as the Z06. But, when the weather is nice, you have the advantage of being able to go completely open air. To me there is nothing like an early evening ride with the top down. And d*mn the vert looks good top down.
Love my Vert, won't go back...if anything maybe someday just for another different mod will get the hard top to go on the Vert for a bit of a different look. I love my C5 Vert, waited a long time to get it and won't be going to any C6's, love the C5 style to much.
As mentioned earlier, the only downside was limitations on tracking the car. Speed Ventures is the only local track event sponsor that I found that allows verts w/o a rollbar. One track event with them and I was hooked! I say "WAS" because I remedied that this weekend when I finished my rollbar (couldn't find a decent one that wouldn't be banging my head at the slightest bump in the road, so I made my own). Now I have the best of all worlds - 500+ HP (forged 382 stroker), track day capable, comfy and fairly quiet with top up, even in the hottest or coldest weather (well, California style weather extremes anyway), and nothing better than top down with the wind in your hair cruising along Pacific Coast Highway! Like a new Z06, but BETTER!
Go with the vert! It adds a whole new level of enjoyment, and maybe adds a few stray bugs to the permagrin!
