I changed from a coupe to a vert and now I want a ZO6 and then I will want a coupe and then a vert and then............I have no idea what to tell you!!!!!!!! Why ask me?????????
I'm researching this choice now, coupe or convertible, 2002-03. One question please: how long do the convertible tops last before needing replacement on average? I looked at a 2002 convertible last weekend and it's top was showing wear already.
I loved the look of the Vert the moment I saw it, probably because the C5 was designed as a Vert to begin with. But that being said, you can't go wrong either way.

Thanks in advance!
Not a direct comparison, but I had an Fbody vert for 10 years. It had a very similar top. I replace it after about 8 years, but ONLY because of a broken rear window. I believe if you take care of the top and keep it out of the sun when possible it will last several years.
my first choice was a VERT but - i had to be able to BUY a hard top for it - so i would have the best of both worlds - ironically enough, i bought an FRC - go figure!!!!!
i have my C4 coupe for "top off" driving!
you will need to make that decision - not us - but it sure is fun for us to try and "help"
They both look great but I think the coupe is more masculine and looks far more bad-azz with tinted windows (most verts just seem a little strange to me with tint -- certain color combos, anyway). And I think that generally speaking coupes make better daily drivers. I bet a lot of verts are weekend cars/garage queens. But get whatever you want -- they're your dollars, so enjoy them. There's no wrong answer.
Having had a vert BMW and now a coupe vette, I like a coupe for 95% of my driving. Realistically you should ask yourself how much you would driving with the top down. Top up the coupe wins, quieter, more trunk space, cheaper.
In a vert top down, I found a lot of the time I was too cold or too hot/sunburned or too windblown. Of course on the occasional sunset drive with perfect weather it was heaven, but that wasn't too often, even out here in california.
The coupe is a good compromise imo.
I tend to agree, as I've owned a vert for almost 22 years before I bought my coupe. As a daily driver, a vert is good only if you can drive down country roads and in areas where rain is very infrequent. I also found that when I did have the top down in my vert, I had to really crank up the stereo to hear it adequately (driving over 40 or 50 MPH). Since I enjoy listening to music, the translucent top is pure heaven - kinda like flying in a jet fighter, but alot quieter.
I do agree that having both would be nice - cruising along an ocean front road on a 75 degree day is vert-heaven and driving to work or in the rain is best with the glass top in place.
In any case, you will experience something new by buying a vert - that's for certain!
