If you are guilty, and you say you can't go to court, send them a check for $185. This means that they will need to send you , by law, a check back for $6. When you get the check, throw it away.
Computers are taking over all transactions and your points can not be reported until all transactions have been completed, Since they are waiting for a cancelled check that they will never get, it stays in limbo for about six months and then gets dumped from existance by the computer. No Points .....!!!

No, really it's true. But they left out the part that tells you in order to make this work, when you send out the check for $185 you must cross your fingers, click your heels 3 times and then sneeze. Follow these additional rules and it's a sure thing.
Do the crime, pay the fine... its part of the risk of going that fast... its not like you weren't speeding.... you just got unlucky and got caught... I've seen the "Im a veteran" defense in court, and the judge said, "Then you should have the good sense not to go so fast"..
Not saying that will happen, but I've seen it...
Just FYI... keep flashing your Military ID if you get stopped... Lots of LEO's wont ticket ya if your a vet... I know I don't... unless your DUI.. (which NOBODY should be)... but even then... I try my damndess to find a way to get Vets home without an arrest...
I've also seen the other side of the Vets.... the guys that give the rest of you a bad name... Pulled a Marine over for drunk driving... I try and give him a break.... and he starts saying "You stupid civilians don't know anything about what its like, I'm on leave and cant get arrested right now"... me, having served in the Armed Forces... didn't appreciate that, but still let it slide... so I tried AGAIN to get the guy to understand I was attempting to give him a break, told him I was in the Navy before, and he said... "OHHHH, that explains it... Navy aint the Military"... Then the guy stood up and squared his shoulders up on me... (big mistake)... Unfortunately he left me no choice... DUI, trip to jail... military or not.. your not killing anybody with your 3000 lb car on my watch...
Very well said indeed. Although I thank each and everyone of you veterans for what you have done and are doing for our country, being a vet gives you know right to break the law. You guys of all people along with police officers should be setting an example for the rest of us. Be safe out there on the highways and in the battle field.

Try to take off work and fight the ticket!! Don't listen to these people that just tell you to plead guilty. Your innocent till proven guilty in this country and a ticket is no different than any other crime. I took off work for my ticket(53 in a 35 zone), met the cop before the trial, he let me plead guilty to 40 in a 35 zone. That was a fine with no points in Pa.!! It's all about revenue for the town, they just want your money.

Accumulation of these points can lead to suspension of license or a trip to driving school. Trust me I have had at least 6 or 7 speeding tickets and I only had to pay court fees ($150)one time out of all my tickets! Around here there is a place called Ticket Defense Team. Find yourself a similar place in your area!! With this method I am telling you, no points on your license and no traffic school!!
Last shot at lawyer for me was $275. For speeding.
In IL we call it "requesting supervision". 4 hour school and another $25-50. Then don't get burned for another year.
call lawyer, fix ticket, no points, its easy, done it many many times, that is why there are lawyers, so you can do whatever you want and get a way with it, ask OJ simpson sad truth huh
I would have tried the military thing also anything is worth a try

I think this worked for Dorothy with the ticket she got on the road to Oz.
If they offer the option of taking a defensive driving course and the ticket won't appear on your record, take it. Otherwise, you admit you were speeding - pay the fine and move on. Next time, perhaps slow down to the legal limit (or closer to it). Sorry you got ticketed, but that's the risk you take.
Here in Michigan, I have pled to a lesser charge of impeding traffic, paid the fine and recieved no points on my license. Plus it is not a moving infraction. You can also call the court to see if you can do this seeing how they only want your money anyway. Best of luck to you
Seems to me that your insurance rates need to go up if this is normal driving to you. You should pay higher premiums to offset those of us that won't need the insurance as often.
I've always ad a problem with this thought. What does speeding have to do with insurance rates? Nothing. Now if he said that he had 3 accidents lately I would agree but speeding has NOTHING to do with accidents at all. If you are doing 90 mph on a straight road with no traffic then it's not dangerous. If you do 90 mph on a heavy travelled road with lots of curves then look out. You're risking someone else's life as well as your own. I have absolutely no problem doing 100 plus mph on a highway where there is no traffic. When you come up to traffic...slow down. The key is to drive smart.

I guess you would have a problem with that thought since you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Insurance companies DO raise your premiums based on points against your driver's license. The reason is because that driver is more at risk for being involved in an accident, most likely causing it. Those accidents are grouped regionally by law and rates are adjusted accordingly.

Thank you Lord, that you Blessed Sandman with a Corvette and not a Stang -amen
I've done this many times (traffic tickets and court, that is) DO NOT just pay it. Go to court. Show up in full dress uniform, and plead guilty. If your record is even somewhat clean you will most likely get a reduction in speed if not probation. If you dont cop an attitude and be argumentative, the worst thing that will happen is everything stands.
Edit, read the part about not being able to make it. Typically if you have a court date, you can request a new date if you have prior obligations and you can prove it. This isnt a bad idea anyway as it increases your chances of the cop not showing up.
The cop will be there. More and more jurisdictions require it. They don't mind the OT either or they wouln't write the ticket to begin with.
