Do the crime and pay the fine. Lots of us here have served our country and defended freedom, that does not make us above the law.
But... have a lawyer go for you and/or look into a traffic school.

Using a attorney will work. Its worked for me twice. No points. I don't mind paying for a ticket if I'm caught breaking a traffic law. What I have a problem with is the insurance company having a license to rape you for a mistake. We all speed at times and if your reckless, you should get caught and learn to be more careful. But most of the time you get your ticket when you just aren't paying enough attention to your speed or LEO is trying to meet a quota. JMHO

I average about 2 tickets a year in texas... I've had roughly ~12 tickets so far.. and I have an attourney that shows up at the courthouse, gets a docket, and takes care of business... I spend 30 days on deferred adjudication, no defensive driving, and see ya, no tickets ever on my record.

Request driving school. You might be able to complete the school online. Why let you insurance possibly go up.
I have no problem giving breaks to military personell. They sacrafice a lot more, for a lot less, than the rest of us!
