Welcome Ian, keep saving that money. I gave a ride today to a kid that was around your age, though he looked a lot older. I had to go to a funeral ( which was a terrible tragedy, one of my friends passed way too young ) and one of the cousins of the deceased wanted to ride in my car. I think he enjoyed it, i remember being that age and my dad took me for a ride in a vette he was considering buying and it was the coolest thing ever. No matter what age you are your never too young or too old to appreciate a Vette. Keep on with your dream and someday you will fulfill it just like the rest of us did.

When my stepdad first drove me in his vette, I had butterflies like no other. The thing was FLYING and the acceleration was insane. I loved every minute of it. American muscle V8's are the only way to go Or a supra pulling 1000+ hp with a GM Powerglide 2 speed auto trans(w00t). Ever since I saw Markovich duroji's White supra, I was in love with em. He was running about 1520 rwhp with 35 PSI I believe.
Although GTO's seem to be beating stock vettes, the look ugly anyways. Vettes handle better and perform better at higher rpm's(so i've heard). My stepdad owns a very nice vette, and one of my friends owns a gto, both are extremely fast, but the vette is more powerful and a lot more comfy
An 05+ GTO will be on par with a base C5 Corvette. GTO's are pigs and tip the scales at 3,800lbs with a full tank of gas. Every 100 lbs of weight equals roughly .1 second in the quarter-mile. Not to mention they are held by back torque management. The fastest of the 05+'s are getting high 12's. A well driven base C5 can achieve the same times, and a Z06 will flat out smoke it. I love GTO's and seriously considered buying one, but I'm glad I chose the vette instead. Now if I were buying a second car, the GTO would be the first car I would look at.
From: "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and

Yup, same thing happened with the last forum I was on... Then a bunch of ricers showed up...
Welcome, you are in the right place to learn about Corvettes.
Check the posts in all the forums and if you have a question -- ask it. There are some very smart Corvette specialists in this group. To bad I'm not one of them. [:0)
Why thank you, Anyone here from Colorado? I used to live there and I loved it. According to what you guys are saying, almost every day was perfect cruising weather, 70 degrees and a nice cool breeze . Stupid michigan, It's cold and rainy here, and then the next day it's 65 with a 2 degree wind chill .
Welcome Ian. I used to live on Colorado (CO Springs and Denver) moved to NOR CAL about 2 months ago. Colorado weather is better than MI (also lived in Cleveland OH so I know what that is like!!) Just do me two favors. #1 Keep saving up to buy a Corvette you will not regret it!! and #2 is the most important......DON'T BECOME A WOLVERINES FAN!!
Hello, My name is Ian. I came to these forums because the one I belonged to earlier had a TON of ricers in it and completely ruined it, made a ton of posts about how thier civic's and Skylines had over 800 rwhp . Anyways I am 14 years old, and can't drive yet, but I love Corvettes and Supras. Basically I came to learn more about corvettes, engines, and how people love thier vettes . Looks like fun, thanks for letting me join .
